    If you are like me this is a simple question to answer. Don't worry I'm not going to give a review of the movie. Quite frankly I've read and listened to enough of those. I don't feel the need to back up why I hated the Last Jedi because anyone knowing or feeling insulted by it will immediately understand why. For the rest of you I'm sure you've listened to and read enough rants so I'm not going to bore you with the details.

    The question I put to you is a simple one and it's something I've spent all day thinking about. I don't think I can give another penny to that colossal money grabbing corporation. I have always known that as far as Disney is concerned, they have no real love for the property they have invested in (why should they? They have nothing to do with the movie making process only the money making process). More importantly to whom is chiefly responsible for this and who should have love for the property is Kathleen Kennedy. Someone I absolutely do not trust with this precious jewel of a franchise. I don't have much insight into what they call the "Lucasfilm braintrust" but what seems clear to me is how did they gave Rian Johnson's script the greenlight? I don't believe for a second that he was left completely alone to write it how he wanted it. I'm not going to go into it but the feminist agenda alone would suggest Kathleen kennedy at the very least had some influence over the writing process.

    I can't believe Rian Johnson as a supposed fan of Star Wars would write such a terrible script and would actively and wilfully want to insult a large percentage (I think) of Star Wars fans in the process.

    It seems crazy to me but this is where we are. So the question I put to you is how insulted are you? Are you like me going to attempt to starve the oxygen of the mouse house that perpetuates this garbage or are you going to continue moaning about how terrible these movies are and do nothing about it?

    Star Wars fan for 40 years. Yep....40. Not insulted at all. Loved TLJ and have it #3 in my rankings. Will be back multiple times next week and eagerly awaiting Solo and Ep 9 and whatever else is on the horizon.

    I have been happy with what Disney has done with the ST and their offerings on TV have been good. The existing attractions at Hollywood Studios are a blast and the SW resort and SW expansion coming to Hollywood Studios look to be amazing immersive experiences.

    I have gone twice. I will wait for Blu-ray now. I'm content to wait.

    I enjoyed it both times. I had the exact same issues with it both times.

    I will be at Solo and IX. I do hope Disney has learned from this now, what worked and what didn't. Shocking that they gave Rian the next trilogy though, before reviews even came out.

    I mean, no offence, but who is Rian Johnson?? Why does this man get to decided the future of Star Wars and why is he the one that got to tell the story of Luke Skywalker. Disney really took a chance there..

    I'm glad you enjoyed. This thread was partly out of curiosity to see how many people felt the same way I did and so far I'm really surprised by the amount of love there is for Last Jedi.

    Hummmm...and who was Irvin Kershner? Or Richard Marquand? Or JJ Abrams? Or Gareth Edwards? Or RJ?

    I am not a big fan of any of them, most of their movies are awful. But when directing SW....well... the things was diferent. And I dont know why, but all of them made a good work with our beloved franchise.

    I think they really liked what he did, but more important, I believe, is a working relationship with Lucasfilm. It seems everyone enjoyed the collaboration. If his public persona is anything like his real persona, he is so even-keeled that he seems able to deal with anything, pressure from studio, expectations, fans. He is major SW fan, but in the Saga you have to follow some rules. Imagine if you were unbound from anything but the most basic tenets like look and feel? Galaxies are the limit.

    And as he is the man who brought the weird back to Star Wars (milking of thala-sirens for green milk, c'mon!), the future seems exciting, at least to me. :)

    All of the directors you mentioned had far more credibility, experience and success before helming Star Wars.
