Do we have a full shot of that article? Seems to be we are reading to much into it.They are basicly asking questions so the main point could be to generate more hype and adding fuel to the speculation-fire. There are more pics on that page, one with Kylo and the other with the parade.

I was going to post the full page but was unsure about doing so since its copy-written material. I will post them now, and if the mods want to remove them then they can.

    Page 6.jpg Page 7.jpg

Here is the text from each:

    1. A touch of love or a touch of evil? We think
we know whose mechanical hand that is… but
is there a surprise in store?
    2. It’s Luke’s original lightsaber, but who is
    passing it to whom?
    3. Action stations! The emerging characters of
    Rey, Finn, and BB-8 run—and roll!—for their
lives. With that weapon, Rey certainly looks like
she can take care of herself… though perhaps
not against an First Order TIE fighter attack.
    4. The Force is strong in this one? Evil villain
Kylo Ren leaves destruction in his wake.
    5. The First Order gathers under a sinister red
banner, along with some heavy artillery. But who
is the mystery figure dressed in black overseeing
things, and is that the dangerous Captain Phasma
    next to him?
    6. The First Order look impressive, but they’re
not impervious to attack. This hangar bay is
under some heavy fire. We just hope that guy
bearing the brunt of the blast has insurance…
    7. A moral dilemma? He’s removed a bloodied
helmet and looks more than a little disturbed.
Once a stormtrooper, always a stormtrooper?
    8. We know they are bad-guy ships, but
those First Order Star Destroyers sure are
    a beautiful sight.
    9. It’s Captain Phasma, a very exceptional
captain indeed. A member of the First Order,
she really looks like someone you don’t want
    to run afoul of…
    10. It’s BB-8 on the Millennium Falcon, but
why is our new favorite droid hiding?
    11. Our first close-up look at Rey, the new
heroine of the Star Wars galaxy. It doesn’t seem
like she ever takes a break from the action, kind
of like a certain Princess we know and love…
    12. A helping hand? Is this Rey and Finn’s first
meet? It seems like he’s survived one or two
explosions. But because his other outfit is shiny,
white armor, should Rey really be this trusting?
    13. The Millennium Falcon—back in action!
But who is at the helm during this battle
    on Jakku?
    14. The trailer had us breathless over the visual
effects, but none so much as this—a wrecked
Super Star Destroyer plays home to a skirmish
between the Millennium Falcon and a pursuing
    TIE fighter!
    15. The line that every Star Wars fan has
repeated a million times: “Chewie, we’re home!”

Is it just me, or is that text surprisingly badly written?

Anyway, since the first time I saw the second trailer, I felt something is "off" with the Luke-touching-R2 scene. I can't quite put my finger on it, but for some reason the hooded figure doesn't look like Luke to me. I am probably wrong, but there is something about the (minescule) performance or body type or posture that to me reads "not Luke".

You can at least forgive @fizzgig for trying, anyway Luke must have had a vision that's why touching Artoo was comforting to him or maybe the droid showed him a hologram of something that upset him.

I absolutely did not mean any offence to the poster. I assume the text was copied, not translated by @fizzgig?

As for Luke touching R2, my feeling is that it isn't Luke at all, although this option makes no sense to me (which is why I conclude that it is in all likelyhood false)

I thought this initially as well, but if you look carefully, the only portion of the body you can see is a the robotic arm. The rest is covered in flowing cloak, so you don't get a real indication of size or weight. Even if Luke gained 40 pounds, that robotic arm, now exposed, would still be thin and wiry.

Ture, @Rieekan, but to be fair that is another context. I am sure that hand is Mark's, but I am not sure the trailer actor is Mark. But yeah, it is more than a little stretch that there will be two hooded people with cybernetic right arms kneeling beside R2 in TFA. So yeah, my eyes say it isn't Luke/Mark, but my mind say With 100% certainty that it is ;)

You're right, @Rebo, there is nothing to base my assumption on :p

I'm not saying it can't be someone else. In fact, I lean towards the theory that maybe this is not Hamill, but still Luke in that it is flashback Luke played by a different actor. I'm just saying that the body type in that image is misleading due to he positioning of the mechanical arm and the jedi robes.

Yes. It didn't come through in my post, but my first thought when seeing that scene in the trailer was, "that is someone else playing Luke. I wonder why they didn't use Mark?"

But again, the most likely answer is that we're imagining things, and it was indeed Mark.

Not sure why it would happen but what if it was a memory or flashback of Anikan on Mustafar.

For that to be so, I'm affraid they'd have to radically retcon Anakin's costume. (I.e. it is dark, with black sleeves, and a dark hood in RotS). I don't think it is very likely, but its good out-of-the-box thinking there!
