As a fan of Star Wars, all of it, I will get just as excited for Ep IX as I would for a SOLO sequel....

I would definitely be up for Solo sequels! I didn't think it would be a good idea, but as I was walking out of the theatre I knew I wanted to see more. It was absolutely wonderful.

I’m certainly very interested in wherever the branches of story from ‘Solo’ lead.

Yes, probably moreso than the storyline of the sequel trilogy.

While I’m still curious to know what happens in the ST, the characters in it are (by and large) the least interesting to me. I don’t mean to include a sneer in that statement– I simply find other characters- (Ahsoka, Qi’ra/Kira, Hondo Ohnaka) –much more engaging.

I always thought it was more about the power of love and friendship myself.

I'm all aboard the non-trilogy train. Can't muster excitement for that, but Solo was fun, despite its flaws. I want to see what other directors can do with their ideas in the SW universe.

More excited for 9. Solo was so bland, I can hardly fathom why someone would wish a precious Star Wars film for another one. 9 has the potential to take the characters and the universe to somewhere new. I am starting to think JJ will give us something never before seen in a SW film almost as a direct response to the played it to safe comments with TFA.

    YES!

I loved SOLO and at this moment in time I'd much rather see a sequel to that than to see what happens in Episode 9. Unfortunately TLJ has knocked the wind out of my sails when it comes to the Sequel Trilogy which is some achievement considering how much I loved TFA.

Unfortunately for SOLO it looks like it's taking the hit for TLJ and it looks like that TLJ has knocked the wind out of the sails of the Star Wars franchise, again some achievement considering the success of TFA and R1.

SOLO was fun from start to finish and the end of that film left me wanting more, in contrast TLJ left me feeling numb and made me question if I now really care what happens in Episode 9.

I will of course go to see Episode 9, I'm far more confident in it now that JJ Abrams is writing it than if Rian Johnson had control and I'm sure my excitement will build once I've seen the trailers but for now I'd much rather more SOLO.

Yes, I would be more excited to see another Solo film (provided it's like Solo) than I will be for SWIX, but not for these reasons.

My reasons come down simply to form.
I love pithy and light adventures fueled by action. Solo, for me, is a buckle up for fun film, and while I love the story going on in 7 and 8, and I'm terribly excited for another Abrams Star Wars (I love Abrams' movies), I love Solo even more!

SWIX will probably feel like a Mustang, but Solo feels like an Indie car.

I'm about as equally excited by the idea of both, but if I'm forced to pick one, then I'm going to strip out everything down the bear minimum and go for speed. :p

That said...in reality, if it's not Howard behind the helm (and it likely won't be), then I'll be more hesitant than excited, and in that situation (aka reality), I'm FAR more excited for SWIX because...um...Abrams! I mean, come on! For me...I've literally never seen an Abrams film I didn't enjoy! Bring it!!

    Cheers,
    Jayson

While I am more excited for Solo 2 than IX, it's not really specifically Solo 2 but more all the spin offs.

For me, and only me - I'm not talking for anyone else - the saga ended at 6.

Yeah, personally Han has always been my favourite character. He represented a brilliant ideology when contrasted to the "hero" personality of luke. Han has always been a brilliant anti-hero, who desperately tries to deny the fact that he is a "Good guy". Which of course he is. Before I saw the solo stand alone, I was terrified. I really hoped that they wouldn't ruin Han. But to my surprise, they managed to create a brilliant movie that captured all the right elements. There were a few things I wish were different. However, so far I believe that the standalone movies have been far above the quality of the others. I now look forward to them far more.

No necessarily a Solo sequel, but I am more intrigued with the Qira/Maul story line goes.

I'd love to see an "underground saga". The backbone of this saga is a SOLO duology/trilogy that (re)introduces us to the characters of Maul, Jabba, Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Boss, Zuckuss and Obi Wan. After the SOLO saga is done the story branches off into an Obi Wan spinoff (focused on Obi and Maul) spinoff as well as a Boba Fett spinoff (focused on Fett, Bane, Jabba, Bossk, Zuckuss). After that I hope the spinoffs will come up with more original content something like KotoR or something set in the distant past like a Bane type of character or young Yoda. As far as the ST is concerned I couldn't care less about IX. Every plotline I was interested in has been solved or ignored. If IX boils down to Rey vs Kylo round 3 I'm not really interested in seeing it. IX will probably the first time I'll actually wait for the trailer/reviews to come out before buying a ticket.

If TLJ had laid a solid foundation building up a finale rather than leaving us with a blank slate for the 132346712th time fans would be excited for IX.

IX, easily. I like Solo and would like to see more dark times underworld stuff as well as more Han, Chewbacca, Lando, and yes I liked Qi'ra a lot too and am down for Don Maul but as a movie Solo also lacked weight and spectacle in addition to the prequel tension hit.

I'm a force plot guy so this sort of thing is a side dish, I like it, even a lot but will not be satisfied for many many meals without an actual entrée.

I'm not holding my breath for a Solo sequel, but I hope for at least some sort of anthology sequel or at least subsequent stories, if no other reason than to see more Alden E and expand the greater universe. Having said that, while I still have reservations about Episode IX, Solo has rejuvenated my spirit and anticipation for future Lucasfilm projects to come - including the ST. You can count me in on opening day(s). But I can't help but feel more intrigued by more anthology films than ST, given all the layers Solo unwrapped about the universe.

I'm thinking of seeing Solo on rental now at my home theater, since it seemed to be an ok and entertaining movie from what I can gather from the reception.

Nothing really that interest me anymore with episode 9, so think I will skip that entirely.
