SPECULATION Is her name REALLY Rey??

Rey might be a robot. A robot bodyguard designed to protect the young Ben Solo, which displays amazing feats of skill and dexterity perfectly all of the time (and annoyingly so). When Ben went nuts and became Kylo, the robot girl named R.E.Y. (Realistic Electronic Youngling) was sent to Jakku as nobody had the heart to deactivate her. A bit like the film A.I. when they abandon robots in the forest....

So its settled...if you change names it means you swithched sides but if you have both like obi-ben you are grey so rey is a kira-rey and thats another hint how rey is a kenobi.

Well that's a stretch. I think if they change rey's name they wouldnt use rey anymore. Meybe finn. Possibly. Meybe. Perhaps.

Uhm if they do change her name to greylo or whatever. Finn would still call her rey. He is the only one meybe besides Leia that calls her rey, as of now. So yeah it would be a ben obiwan situation.

 

I think Kylo called her Rey too.

 

As they've claimed to thematically linking the books to the movie development, what I've noticed in the Ahsoka novel released late last year, Ahsoka fakes her own death after Order 66 and takes on the name of Ashla while scraping out a living while newly isolated in the Force from the other living Jedi including Anakin/Darth Vader. There's also a part of Ahsoka's newly introduced backstory where she was almost abducted when she was very little. So...

When he's bleeding in the snow and she's about to kill him (voice in her head telling her to do it), he softly calls her name, then the ground splits and she snaps out of it.

 

Yeah it's right after she slashes his face. He's grunting in pain too, so you can easily miss it. Not sure if he was going to attempt to convince her again (which is dumb at this point) or he saw her beginning to channel the Dark Side.

 

The novelization?

 

No I heard it when watching the movie. He seems to say "Rey" when he's trying to sit up and look at her.

 

I never noticed...but i always thought i heard her whisper in strain 'kylo' during the interogation...just moments before she says 'you....you are affraid...blah blah"

 

I never heard that myself.

I wonder if he was sensing Snoke nearby or actually didn't want her to give in to her hate? He never said she should join the Dark Side, just wanted to teach her the ways of the Force.

Either way, Han, Leia, Finn, Chewie, Ren, etc.. all know her as Rey, so if her name is changed, I think it would be a waste.

It's the name on the helmet of a guy I think. Unless that was her writing her own name? I mean at 5 I knew my name was Melanie and I could write it.
