I know that Games Workshop has recently released their Warhammer: Horror line, a series of books set in the world of Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Mainly these extend to body horror and supernatural horror, but it has opened up a possibility for me.

I am just wondering how effective it would be to have a horror series in Star Wars. After all, there is huge scope of possibilities.

    1. A claustrophobic Alien style horror series where a carnivorous organism escapes from its holding cell and starts picking off passengers one by one
    2. A body horror series like Cabin Fever, Thinner, The Fly or The Thing where people find themselves affected by a microorganism that is slowly killing them or altering them on a physical or conscious level
    3. A horror series like Scanners, Carrie or FEAR where we see the full horror of what the dark side of the force represents: have a group like the Knights of Ren be like the cyth from Slaine (2000AD) and draw their power from fear, have them manipulate perception
    4. Body snatchers/replacement: self explanatory, I remember in one of the more recent Batman comics, there is a woman with no skin called Jane Doe who abducts people and makes them watch as she does everything better than them
    5. Psychological horror- have a version of The Cell (one of the key films that influenced Silent Hill 4 The Room) or Jacob's Ladder with force users
    6. Supernatural horror- if dark side ghosts are a thing, have them possess people, similarly if there is a relic or building suffused with dark side energy, have it develop its own sentience
I understand that not everyone likes horror, however I feel it would be an interesting thing to explore in this setting.
