SPECULATION Is Luke Rey's Father? - The Evidence For and Against

Oh, so now if someone doesn't do the killing but helps or facilitates they are innocent? So Sorsha hunts the infant down, takes her by force from her guardian (who she enslaves), and plans to take her to her mother who will not only kill the child but completely destroy her soul - and shes not evil because someone else was going to do the killed.......yet Kyo didn't say "I dont' think we should fire the weapon" and he contributed to destroying 3 planets?

Every officer and member of the FO who was involved in firing the weapon culd have said something. They are just as guilty as Kylo.

Was he in command? We don't see him actually commanding anyone, except when its time to leave. The Stormtroopers seem to be doing everything on their own.

So the direct commanding officer is the one to blame, thats why Kylo is to blame for the deaths at the castle. So that would mean Captain Phasma is responsible for the village. Kylo would only share the responsibility as he gave the order, but Phasma is the one in command of the attack the soldiers.

So we've gone from Kylo being a mass murderer to Kylo, maybe, sharing some responsibility in a couple cases where multiple people were killed. Cool. My original point still stands - he is far from the worst villain we've seen, far from the worst villain we've seen become a hero, and a character like his being redeemed is certainly not out of the realm of possbility given the other types of villains we've seen redeem themselves.

It's been noticed that Rey on the packaging looks to have a fresh scar over her left eye.

 

i just want to say this in the interest of casting some possible light on why people are coming at this from such extreme angles:

it's very very clear in the book that:

1. Ren does not approve of Starkiller and does try to stop the second attack, but doesn't speak out clearly enough (out of fear or blind loyalty, it's not clear). for that matter Hux isn't actually all that sanguine about it either: it's Snoke who pushes them to do it.
   
2. Ren is not in charge of the Takodana or the Jakku troops on those missions, but yes they defer to him anyway because he's co-commander on the Finalizer. he ordered the Jakku execution because they were not all just civilians, but heavily armed combatants. again, the book is very specific that his role in the FO is ambiguous, even to the FO; that Phasma asks for his orders even though she technically does not report to him.

oh! i should add: the book also makes it very emphatic that Ren and Hux are very likely completely in over their heads in their positions: it's part of why they squabble, and part of their dynamic with Snoke as well.

these are nuances that are not in the film, but they do color the conversation, whether we consider them canon or not at this point. i'm just putting this out there to maybe add some context to why people find Ren's role in the FO and his culpability for what the FO does to have some rather gray areas.

I guess Rey is the Anti-Maz Kanata since they are holding the saber out with the opposite hand, just as Rey could be the Anti-Anakin based on the opposite side of the face for the scar... and Kylo is the Anti-Luke since he actually killed his own father like his mentor(s) wanted him to...

 

Again, I have never said she wasn't evil just that what she did wasn't comparable to what Ben did and that what Ben did was way worse (Mass Murder).

I will only concede that you have made a reasonable case on the weapon fire and the attack on Maz's castle but Ben gave the order on Jakku and most of the combatants had already been killed. It was the villagers that had been running and hiding that were killed as a result of that order so that still stands as a mass murder and I'm confident we are going to find out that Luke had more than two student so that will be another mass murder on his hands.

idk about rey being a kenobi because obi-wan was all about passing the literal torch as an "Established" character while rey is completely new
