It reads to me as though he's confusing the acolytes of the beyond with the clan. The acolytes bought vaders saber, not the clan, and the acolytes became the knights of Ren. So, he's saying, the knights of Ren attacked themselves. Nope.

Perhaps I should have say it better: I'm saying whatever theory you have (Skywalker, Solo or Random) you have to take into account those things. At least I guess.

Not much here other than a similar looking helmet. Also, the clan leader actor was listed as a member of the Knights of Ren in the credits. It's not clear if that was a mistake or not.

Kindly disagree: I guess it's sure by now, by Hidalgo statements, the script and other stuff, that he was a Clan Leader.
The mistake was in the credit.
He was the Leader of a group op people, Kylo and his knights killed.
It is also clear, that is a different event than the "temple massacre and/or fire"

The question is why this bit of Kylo's past is so important to end up in Rey's visions?
There could be few explainations (I think):
1- Because the Clan is related by blood to Rey or because they have to do with her being left on Jakku (somehow)
2- Because the Clan is related to the saber.
    3- Them both.

In addition, the helmet is not similar... to me it's identical.
And if you watch the scene in Rogue1, the weapon the Clan member holds his hands is identical to that of the Leader in the visions. Too much coincidences, I think.

Then the description of the character and of the Clan...

    - "Astronomical conjecture pointed them to the moon of Jedha, believing the star in the system to have been the First One glimpsed by their early ancestors"
    - "Resonat Helmet siphons the Call of the First Light"

This Clan is obsessed with the "First Light" and the "First Light Call"
I'd say it's easy to compare those elements
    - to the Dark Force calling for Palpatine from the U.R. and (I believe)
    - to Rey. Is she the embodiment of this First Light (Rey = Ray of Light)?

Questions are legit at this point:
A - Was Rey born into the Clan, but for some reasons she was left on Jakku?
B - Was the Clan searching for Rey, but she was left on Jakku and so they never reached her?
C - Why Kylo killed them?

Well, please prove it was a mistake. I don't remember Hidalgo saying categorically that it was a mistake. The confusion could be related to the fact this isn't a clue, but a cool looking shot that made it into the film but doesn't mean anything.

Feel free to speculate away, but there's not much here to discuss.

FWIW this has been talked about previously on this thread. The only thing new here is the speculation about a similar looking helmet.

I think what Daisy was alluding to is the fact that her parents are dead.

Maz Kanata : Dear child. I see your eyes. You already know the truth. Whomever you're waiting for on Jakku, they're never coming back. But... there's someone who still could.

Why differentiate the two? Why is Luke separate from the people Rey is waiting for? And even more interesting is the deleted piece dialogue that is seen in the novel.
    Maz ends her line with

"But there's someone who still could... with your help."

And I found Rian's part of the interview just as illuminating as Daisy's-

Interviewer: Are we going to find out who her parents are?
Rian Johnson: Uh, mmmmm.... Its- It's something that's absolutely going to be addressed.
Interviewer: It will be addressed but there won't be a clarification.
Rian Johnson: There won't be... It depends on... Um, I can't say! I was about to say something! You almost got me.

Notice how he didn't say that her parentage will be "revealed" or "clarified". They all maintain the company line that her parentage will be "addressed"
I think there's a distinct difference in the two terms.

I don't think her parents matter to her story. The individuals. However where she came from and what happened to them definitely will play a major part in her arc.

I said although obviously something went wrong

    The script plus these...

= Production and Lucasfilm "idea" of the scene - if one can't call them official corrections (of the credits)

then there's not so much room for speculations about the identity of the warrior.
    There was just a mistake.
Or as you say... they put a whole scene in the most significant sequence of the movie (where any other fragment have a meaning) without knowing what it's meant to be. Which I pesonally find hard to believe. Much more than a stupid mistake.
We can speculate about many things, about litereally all the rest, but - honestly - not about this particular detail. IMO.

Nothing in your post confirms that it was a mistake. It could be a mistake, but for all we know clan = Knights of Ren. Perhaps this is when Kylo became the master of the Knights of Ren.

I guess if so... then Hidalgo wouldn't be so vocal.

I guess he was, because they've already set up those backstories that matter for the overall story they're telling:
    - how, when and where Kylo turned or became the Master of the KOR is one of them;
    - so it is whatever that scene in that sequence (in his words at least a massacre in a village) is meant to represent.

Having said so, agree to disagree.

Exactly. I can't imagine a scenario where that shot is an important clue and then they made a mistake in the credits.

If her parents aren't important. Why make such a mystery about. Why dance around is she a Skywalker theories. Just come out with a denial. Rey is not a nobody. She's special

Because in my opinion, the reveal isn't who her parents are so much as where her parents were from. What they were. And most importantly, what happened to them. There's a reason Rian Johnson dances around admitting that they will reveal/ clarify who Rey's parents are.

I think perhaps there isn't a straight answer for it. She's nobody born to nobodies. Literally. Her parents as individuals don't matter. They're going to give us like three lines about who her parents were.

Like I said, I think it's what happened to them that matters.

Besides, the number of jokes they make at the expense of the Skywalker theory at the SWCO was just mean. They would never joke about it unless it was basically out of the question.

For example, Emilia Clarke just gave an interview where she talked about just how stringent Disney's policy about secrecy is.

No interview is okayed unless a number of officials sign off on the questions that are going to be asked. Josh Gad's questions would have gone through like three levels of scrutiny. The cast's answers would have been broadly scripted too with a few lines they could throw in to fit the situation.

They perhaps didn't mean to make her parentage a mystery but now it is. It's free advertising for them to make it into this big huge thing.

However, making such blatant jokes that give away the answer would just be them wasting all that effort.

The House of Mouse would snipe a person before they let them say anything that jeopardises its secrets on air

The Rogue One Visual Guide is written by Pablo Hidalgo and has little teasing for Episode 8, for example the new planet Crait in the TLJ teaser:

was first mentioned by Pablo in this visual guide, so maybe the informations on this guy and this clan in the guide are clews for Rey's identity/Rey's Force Vision..
