SPECULATION Is Luke Rey's Father? - The Evidence For and Against

That might be it. Either way it wasn't REY.

 

What's funny is, she doesn't write her name, so we have no idea how she spells it.

 

We never see Luke write his name either.
he could spell it with a silent "X" in the middle.

 

We have to trust they are spelled as we see them written haha

so 'Luke' could be written as 'Crap Bag'
and 'Rey' could be written as 'princess consuela banana hammock' ?

Okay, so, this may or may not sound old/stupid, but I just had a really random thought....

Has it ever been confirmed where Kylo Ren's name comes from? Obviously "Kylo" is assumed to be a combination of "Skywalker" and "Solo," but I don't know if this is from a production standpoint or if that would be canon, too. Because as people were discussing Ben potentially being the one to leave Rey on Jakku (which I love the idea of, but I don't think it's what happened), I noticed something...

Just as "Kylo" may be a combination of elements of "Skywalker" and "Solo," perhaps "Ren" is a combination of Rey and Ben?
Kylo

• Kylo → Skywalker/Solo
• Ren → Rey/Ben

Interesting how the second halves of both names match up (Solo, Ben). I wonder what this means about the first halves (Rey and Skywalker) matching up? This is pretty much the ultimate stretch, so I don't actually believe there's any validity to this, but it popped into my head and I figured it was worth posting! I think it's interesting! (But again... I don't think there's any validity to this—I'm positive it's just a coincidence!)

He was always Kylo but Rey used to be Kira, so there's one to sort out lol

 

Damn... That's disappointing! (Unless Rey isn't her real name... Perhaps she was supposed to be Kira all along and then found out Rey was her real name, but now it's reversed, so we know her as Rey but she's actually Kira! )

Like I said, there's almost definitely no validity to this (other than potentially "Kylo" being a hybrid of Skywalker and Solo), but I still think it's interesting! We know very little about the Knights of Ren, so who's to say what their name actually derives from?

 

I kind of want to find out her real name is Kira. Just like Finn was meant to be Skylar.

 

I think it would be interesting! But I'm also used to her being Rey now. I mean, that's how we met her and that's how we know her. It would be weird for her to end up having a different name, so I hope if she finds out her real name is Kira, she keeps Rey! (Also, I didn't know Finn was originally supposed to be named Skylar! That's really interesting!)

 

Person no. 1: So, our male and female protagonists need some cool, space-sounding names. Any ideas?

P1: No, it's already been done.
Person no. 3: Locusma and Gonthrax?
P1: Not Star-Wars-y enough.
Person no. 4: Kira and Skylar?
P1: Bingo!

 

I think Skylar was first Ben, then Finn'a character became Skylar too. It seemed Ben and Rey were always meant to be together in some form, and Kylo was like Snoke, but seemed to be enchanted by Kira and wanted her.

 

If my memory is correct I believe Finn's character was Sam early in development. Rey's for sure was Kira.

 

I've always believed that with all the ideas they had for Skyler/Sam they were able to create both Finn and Poe.
Jhon Doe, became Lor San Tekka. JD's role in TFA became in fact that of Tekka while some traits of Skyler/Sam are now in Finn others in Poe.

 

If I remember right all 3 went through some heavy changes. Ben was sort of in Finn'a place at first, then he was the bad guy, and Finn who went from Ben's character to Samm, was not even a Stormtrooper.

Kylo = Snoke
Ben = Finn
Finn = Ben

Poe was in there somewhere too.

 

Or a second u! Like, Luuke!
