Reincarnated 12-15 years after his death... don't think so.
Even the clone angle... why wait so long after ROTJ?

I'd buy it took a long time to find the Skywalker (Anakin or luke) DNA but create an "unaltered" clone like Boba which doesn't age 10X.,, still don't think so.

You folks are lacking some imagination here.... people are saying Rey's either Luke or Analkin's clone but no one is mentioning she could be a clone of the other Skywalker (The other force sensitive female Skywalker.... Leia).

Young Rey.... Young Leia.. there is a bit of a resemblance.

I don't think she is a clone, but I have just always wondered whether she was just Han and Leia's kid, born while Ben was away at Luke's Academy. Hell, Leia was a Jedi, maybe she had some sort of premonition that her son was going to go on an do the things he did. She sends Ben off to be with Luke for a year, goes into hiding, has a baby, and then hides the baby.

To me it would make quite a few things from the Force Awakens make sense.

1 - 'abandoned' Falcon is on her large planet, in her small remote village - convenient.

    2. She takes the Falcon and Han, in a huge galaxy, is very conveniently nearby. Going by the convos, Han 'found' her almost right away. As if he didn't want her to get to far away.

    3. OK she is a Mary Sue Jedi...I get that. But her and Han seem to click right away. He acts rather fatherly to her throughout.

    4. Lastly - it would at last explain in some way why Leia hugged Rey (whom she had 'never met') over Chewie at the end after Han's death.

I realize there are also more then enough counter points to this - namely, why wouldn't she remember Han or Leia - I mean she looks like she is 5 or 6 when she is dropped off on Jakku.

I have always hated the idea that she was a 'nobody'. I would rather her be a Sith lord than a nobody.

Every time I hear a theory involving somebody being a clone of somebody else I can't help by roll my eyes.

I have one major problem with the "Rey is Han and Leia's kid" theory. Han knew he was probably going to die when he walked onto the bridge with Kylo Ren. That would have been the perfect time to tell Rey, "Hey, I'm your dad. I just wanted to let you know before your brother kills me."

I personally hope this is the case. It would make sense why there has yet to be any mention of Luke's hand and where the saber in TFA came from. It would also help justify Rey's mysterious and exponential overnight growth of her skills in the force and the "Who are her parents?" question.

I’m not sure why there would be any need to have mention of Luke’s hand as it is not part of the story. JJ didn’t use it so at this point it is an insignificant part of the story

Uh....an eye color change, when most men (the bulk of star wars fans) don't even notice eye color, is vastly different than explaining why a CLONE has different jibbly bits.

Or better yet, what if Rey is an Anakin clone?

well, please excuse-me first, I don't get "jibbly bits", my friend Google Translate isn't able to translate it in French. I think I barely get the meaning, thus.

Many things, starting from sexual genre up to eye color, are deeply coded in the DNA. Change them is kind of impossible.
If you're born with blue eyes you'll die with blue eyes.
If you clone a male, you'll get a male.
Any possibility to get a result that should be different from the original material, is a denial of the cloning process, that relies first on the DNA copying.

Explaining why cloning a male should result in a female, or explaining why a blue eyed guy should end up with brown ones, proceed from the same "impossible mission" that would imply a DNA alteration... in real life, DNA alteration leads to cancer and death, period. That's my take.

Technically, MOST Caucasian children are born with blue eyes. Eye color usually isn’t set until they’re about two years old.
Not exactly. Since males possess both an ‘X’ and ‘Y’ chromosome, it’s possible to replace that ‘Y’ with a duplicate ‘X’ - thus creating a female clone.

    Hooray for science!!!

To be clear: I think this would be dumb. However, if your main counterargument against this ridiculous premise, set inside a fantastical universe, is that it doesn’t comply with real world science, you’re going to need a better argument.

You mean the pair of elongated segmented appendages near the mouth of an arthropod? Of course! It was staring me in the face the whole time!

Wait . . . no. Probably that robed fellow with the poor complexion who oddly pronounces the word ‘sanctuary’.

Why a clone though? And of Luke’s hand?! Jesus, Mary and Joseph...

Wouldn’t it make more sense, if we are going to give Rey force lineage and that “relevance” so many want, to make her the granddaughter of Palpatine and daughter of Palpatine’s son, the drunk junk trader aka Matt Smith? That would explain a lot: the force in Rey, why Palps is back... also, let’s not ignore the fact the it would scare the bejesus out of her :D

I wouldn't be totally against something like this. Like everything, all just depends on the execution. .....Man, JJ really has to pour a lot into a single film. What a daunting task.

While I have an open mind about a lot of theories, I will be somewhat disappointed if Rey ends up being a clone of Luke’s hand. Besides it would not really fit the story we have been given so far

I'm mainly concerned about the jokes about the trilogy and Rey.
"I gotta hand it to them..." and what not. That's why this theory shouldn't have legs.

Oh... no pun intended there either, with Anakin losing his legs, and the whole "Skywalker Rising" thing... I'll see myself out. :p
