Could Leia and Ezra have met during the time period of Rebels (being that they would be around the same age) and later had Rey before Han and Leia got serious? Afterall, Han was still legally married to Sana Solo between ANH and ESB according the new canon. Also, Rey is a scavenger just like Ezra. Could Max Von Sydow be Kanan? Just some food for thought.

Yikes! I hope not. I'm already a bit weirded out about Han's marriage. Adding all this extra background information risks seriously damaging characters we know and love.

This is why I ignore all 'canon' unless it's from the movies.

Although it's a clever idea, I'd say it's far from a good possibility. Talk about making the galaxy smaller!

I'm not reading the comics, but I believe that Han is claiming they're not married. Does one get "legally" married in that universe, anyway?

Slight tangent, but speaking of the comics, I actually really enjoyed the world-building and prequel/original inter-connectivity in the "Princess Leia" series. And that's what they should be: extensions of the films that don't impact the narrative of the films.

They recently showed that Luke fought Darth Vader before Empire, and was almost captured by Boba Fett. That makes no bloody sense.

That's not something I was aware of and it completely changes the context of events in TESB. This is not a good thing.

I haven't read it, but I believe the new issue has Han denying that he is married to Sana. I seriously doubt he is actually married to her. It makes no sense and ruins the character.

I wouldn't count on anything from Rebels playing a major role in the film.

Time wise it does not work out. If Ezra and Leia were to of had Rey before she got serious with Han it would have had to of been between ANH and ESB. That would mean that at a minimum Rey would have to be 35 years old in TFA. I would think Rey is going to be 21 or 22 at the oldest and most likely around the age of 18-19 that Luke and Leia was during ANH

Where did this come from, he has been loud on other threads, it's best not to get involved.
I know it does hurt the almost fact that Leia was his first love, we were blinded by just his smuggler past now his private life is out in the open now.

No. I can't stand this idea of TV-Movie crossing over. We tend to like this idea because we are all bigger star wars fans than the "general audience" but the general audience is where the money is made. They aren't going to shoe horn TV character background info for characters like ezra because then you have to tell his back story to the general audience and bore the tears out of the fandom.

Shows like rebels are only going to POTENTIALLY cross over into the movies in instances like ezra's sabre hiding in a one second scene in a jakku trade area and you have to freeze frame it to notice. Rebels popping up in the ST is akin to JJ's comments about Jar Jar's bones being on Jakku.

Well, not really. There is middleground to it. You just treat a "borrowed" character like any other new character. She/he/it gets an introduction as any other character.

Lets take Ahsoka as example (because she's "big").

We don't need to know in detail all her history. Sufficient enough would be something like, yo this togruta is former Jedi and she use to be Anakin's padawan. You don't need long 5 min dialogue exposition. It's enough to see her do some Jedi stuff, and one line of dialogue like, I knew Anakin/ your father/grandfather etc.

Much Like exposition that Ben gave Luke when they met on Tatooine. Short scene behind which is hidden complicated story told in PT

Hell no!!!!! But i always thought von sydow could be an older kanan but if any REBEL characters are in ep 7 they need to explain where the hell everyone was during the time between 4 and 6 coz we never see them or hear about them, thats the one thing that pisses me off with all this new blast they keep putting into this new canon i mean where the hell is kanan or ezra when the rebels attack the death star. Dont get me wrong i love rebels so much i think kanan is a really cool and interesting character but why was yoda able to communicate with him and not say a single word to luke about there being another jedi out there or even tell obi wan. Blast it i dont want to keep rambling but when i was a kid i learned that luke was our ONLY hope and the only other trained jedi was ben and yoda but they was too old to defeat vader and the emperor so it was just luke but now we have kanan and ezra so why didn't yoda tells luke to join forces with them... People need to die in rebels season 2 or at least be frozen but i think thats just a lazy way of explaining why they was never around.

This is why there won't be any Rebels crossover into the TFA. Disney/Lucasfilm are likely planning a few seasons of Rebels and by crossing over into TFA they would potentially give away what might happen in future seasons of Rebels and they are not going to do that.

As for why Yoda does not mention Kanan or Ezra to Luke, my 9 year old sums it up best. She said "at some point Kanan and Ezra have to die"
