Is Rey the Satele Shan of the "old republic" era?

    I know the stories are not very similar, but we don't really yet know what Rey's lineage is (regardless what Kylo said). I am a big fan of the story for the old republic era and just think the similarities are interesting though few (so far).

    1. Double-sided lightsaber - Satele wielded a double bladed lightsaber
    2. Grand Master of the Jedi - Satele was the strongest known Jedi of that era (her timeline). Rey is now the only Jedi and by default should eventually reach legendary status (I am fully confident)

    Am I the only one to think of this? I figure we are all incredible Star Wars fans/nerds, and I am curious of your thoughts on this

    Given Luke's lightsaber is broken, it just seems inevitable to me. So yes I am reaching a bit, but I really feel like that is exactly what she will do

    I have no problem in her being a Satele like character, that would be awesome, in fact I think the SWTOR trailers are leagues above this trilogy, they even have a better story...

    I think she's more Nomi Sunrider, but most of all I think she's Rey.

    Oh yeah, I don't take that away from her at all. Just pointing out some similarities. I love that she is Rey and feel that she is different on many levels. Just a fun observation is all.

    Rey is definitely Palpatine's grand daugher.

    Why else would she "go straight for the dark side" like Luke says?

    That would mean Kylo wasn't lying. Her parents were just scum, spawn of Palpatine who just left her there on Jakku.

    Again, moviemaking 101, abused kids turn out to be strong later in life.

    Then I think you have been missing some things. She has by far probably had the most challenges of a Jedi so far or at least on Par with Luke.

    1. She is an orphan
    2. She was sold into slavery in a sense.
    3. Had to learn to survive on her own. Most of her challenges has taken place off screen I'd like to believe
    4. Gets thrown directly into a galactic confrontation with the realization that she might just be the galaxy's last hope...
    5. Suddenly loses her only teacher

    To me this is only getting more interesting.

    We will just have to agree to disagree...

    I guess, lol. I just love the idea of Rey as a duel lightsaber wielding powerhouse. I loved how Satele was depicted in SWTOR, the CG mini-scenes were just spectacular.

    I can see Rey just owning with that double bladed lightsaber.

    Honestly though, Kylo does use the same lightsaber fighting style it seems, though it is the Vader archetype. :D

    well part of me thinks that there are some elements that imitated the force bond like Bastilla and Revan had (and the jedi exile with her companions)
