Is there a plan after all?

The characters were probably the most planned...but the company is maybe always constantly changing and adapting to become more successful per project

 

I think people are listening to these interviews like they are reading contract fine print. People in conversation often speak subjectively. Hence Adam Driver can know how things are going to end, Rey can know about her family and there the director can say I wasn't given a plan.

We as fans hear this and think oh man I hope there is cohesion between the stories. (Which there is). For a 40something indy filmmaker. I would expect Rian to have a few more reasons to say what he said. Like fans of his own work or his peers who would suggest that he sold out to do corporate art for the Mouse.
