Is this how the Force works? (Rey's family)

Either way, it's definitely is gone and so are those who were on it. That's the only thing that's a problem for me. The people who left Rey will not return. Luke is linked to it, but not directly involved in the drop off.

So I think Luke is Rey's new family now and TLJ is about extended family too they said.

Shape still seems off to me too.

 

I was surprised by the ship analogy you posted.

But as things go strange in this entire thread (from my perspective) , and thoughts go wild, this picture of light that Rey sough on the Sky, (from yours post) in her vision , left me without a breath.


I do not know and did not thought about ships , but I love that song, Mirrorbright.

It captured my heart.

Perhaps most emotional thing about that song is Leia's story in the book. It is Alderaan lalaby, talking about the moon.

But Alderaan never had its natural satelite, its moon. This lalaby was song made by old lady who came to live on Alderaan from the other planet which had beautifull moon.That lady made nostalgic song about that moon, and it became Alderaan lalaby.

I almost cried when Leia said, that Alderaanian children never sough moon from their lalaby. And that the only time those children sough the moon, and could believe the moon from that song became reality, was on that day Death Star approached to Alderaan, and destroyed the planet.

So,since I am amotional, I can't tell more than that I , personally, would like to believe this vision of light you posted, which has dark conotation ( as Lady Rey noted) was emotion of Death Star approaching, and forming a partial eclipse. It would be Force carried emotion, translated trough Leia, symbolising tragedy,linked with that Alderaan lalaby ,somehow, simbolising treat, abandonment, uncertainty and incoming death, but also a hope of been a real moon that brings back memories, as the song says.

I do not know did authors of the TFA had this approach, but if they did, I am owerwhelmed.

 

Leia's realization about that song was bone chilling and heart wrenching!

 

Still doesn't connect because the ones on the ship are never coming back. It could be the ship or it might not be, but there was likely no one who survived that. That's my issue with all this. Maz said they are not returning, and then said Luke could.

It's actually Padme. She says she dreams of her mother.

 

Yeah and she talks about her mother and how she dreams of her. It was to help it make sense that she knew how sad her mother was, when we learn it would have been impossible since she died giving birth. Padme also expected 1 child, not 2. She can't dream of dying in childbirth because it never happened, but Han dying in the snow did. She is too old now to die from childbirth. She saw the past and future, as is how the Force works. Also Ben and Rey are 10 years apart, so they are not twins. She dreamed of twins.

I am not trying to say it's not possible they could be related another way, or that she's not a Skywalker, but let's not get too excited or disappointed until TLJ.

Leia dreams about Han being dead in the snow( on the planet Hoth obviously),in the past, which didn't happened this way,Han survived.
Sohe dreams about Luke's faliure ,in the future,about Luke's faliure to find truth amongst stars,(which reffers obviously to his search for the first Jedi temple),but we know he will not fail in that.
She dreams od Ben Kenobi's faliure to shut down tractor beam on Death Star, so they all die trapped on Death Star,the past,but did not happened,Ben managed toshut down tractor beam,,they escaped.
She dreams of Chewbacca in a cage,enslaved,we know this would mean death for this proud freedom living fellow,but he will ne free.Its the present time.(Wookie fight for freedom on Kashyyyk).
All this in same one dream.
Amongst all this false-disasters,which went opposite on reality, she dreams herself ,in the same that dream, od herself giving birth to two children,and dying.....which did indeed happened to Padme,but we sough that she dreams all about events that happened differently than in reality .The events were real,but outcome she dreams are opposite,they all die.

I think Leia indeed dream of herself having 2 births indeed,its a future,her dream Interpolates with her strange memory about her own birth by Padme,but its her ,Leia ,giving birth,and a birth to two children, and she will not die during birth of her children.

It could be hidden gem left by the autor of the book for future readings coherence.
