    Apparently the series was almost scraped because the writing wasn't good enough. But then Tony Gilroy was hired to write the pilot. Now the series is back on track.

    The point, I assume, is not Cassian's backstory but an exploration of the formation of the rebellion. While Star Wars: Rebels -- as well as in some way Solo: ASWS -- touched on this, a story about the early organized revolt told from inside the budding Rebel Alliance would be extremely interesting and powerful, at least to me. Cassian & Co, I bet, are just vehicles used to tell this story.

    When I heard about this series and the Mandalorian, I was more pumped for this one.

    Now with Gilroy on board, even more pumped.

    I just watched the 3rd act of R1 again last night....still think this is one of the finest extended scenes/acts in ALL of the movies!

    Well HONESTLY, I wasn't a huge fan of the announcement of the Cassian OR the Mando series as I was about the Obi-Wan announcement....HOWEVER I freaking LOVE the Mando series, and now have high hopes for the Cassian series, even though it's a lesser "want" for me than the other two.

    Of the 3 series this one still excites me the most. I expect it wont take place in backwater villages like Mandalorian and Obi-Wan. I want to see characters in and around the rebellion being developed. Characters like we saw in Rogue One and Solo. Like Enfys Nest, etc. The scoundrels and spies that arent working for themselves, but to excite a rebellion.

    @KeithF1138 Yes! I especially like the Ring of Kafrene, want to go back there. And seeing the true origins of characters like Enfys Nest is intriguing. Would be great to go back to the very beginning, i.e. what was the initial spark that started the Rebellion, and who were the major players? Who was the "Sam Adams" of the Rebellion?

    I don't know, there is a lot of alarmist click-bait out there saying X series is cancelled or they will bring in actor X- just look at Mike Zeroh- and I am sceptical about anyone who claims to be a authority, particularly at such an early stage. Personally I think it's too early to say either way. It does sound good though.
