    Kathleen Kennedy's husband Frank Marshall is the Jurassic World producer. So that's a connection.

    Last I read about a Ty/e anything was that young actor Tye Sheridan (who was like 16 at the time) auditioned but his part was nixed after Kasdan and Abrams took over as the writers (according to The Hollywood Reporter this happened in 2013).

    I don't have any knowledge on that, but I think the post by Frank Marshal (producer of Jurassic World and husband to Kathleen Kennedy) was clear that the hat was a "special present" for Ty's birthday. I don't think he is involved with TFA.
