i've been enjoying The Cantina since it started, but one thing continues to irk me: why can't people spell Leia's name correctly?? i've seen everything, from Leah to Laya; i just don't get it. for such a beloved character you'd think the name would get spelled correctly. everyone gets Qui-Gon Jinn right and that's a weird ass name! why not Leia??

i hope i feel better for having vented... (leia)

not to defend such heresy, but I’ve made a number of spelling errors myself by posting on my phone. Many star wars names and places get corrected in interesting ways. And with the forum only allowing a 10 minute edit window, when I get back to a computer to take a better look, it’s too late.

I know I’ve seen my phone make Leia into Leah.
    :)

the whole "alot" thing also irritates me; it's "a lot" NOT "alot"! i even noticed an "alot" on the front page of starwars7news.com!

i'm not a grammar nazi though, i swear! (dual)

I apologize for being slightly off-topic, but the pronunciation sometimes bothered me. Specifically in A New Hope, I *swear* that Tarkin at one point says her name, but emphasizes the "e" part, turning it into a hard English "e" as opposed to the more "a" sound (sorry if that doesn't make sense -- I'm not up on all the phonetics mumbo-jumbo). Like "Lee-ah" as opposed to "Lay-ah".

So incredibly slight, but I swear he says it that way in speaking with Vader at some point, perhaps before he destroys Alderaan.
