    The Rise of Skywalker

The title is doing its job by grabbing our attention. Now... what does it mean??

This wager is based on some good speculation and debate I've seen around the forum, so now it's time to put your money where your mouth is!

This may get sticky on selecting a final answer come December, but we'll deal with it in as unbiased a manner as possible. Wager away! And for the sake of my sanity, please keep all wagers at 200 credits.

(note: the poll above is an unofficial survey; wagers will be counted based on your posts below)

I'll begin with 200 on the Skywalker name / legacy in general (i.e, it does not refer to any one person).

Titles can have several meanings, but just because of the sake of the game I'm going with the obvious one:

"The Rise Of Skywalker" refers to Kylo Ren / Ben Solo, 200 Credits. @DarthSnow

@RockyRoadHux- what about you, lovely scavenger scum?

TRoS refers to the unveiling to the galaxy that Luke Skywalker wasn't a myth, but a true story...ALL of it.

    Luke Skywalker

After reading the German version of the title.
    I am with @NinjaRen.

It refers to the Rise of Kylo Ren.
    He finishes what Vader started.
Ruling the galaxy, finally kills the shadows of the emperor together with Rey and they close the cycle.

    200 on Ben Solo-Skywalker @DarthSnow

I'll put 200 credits on "Skywalker" transcending the family bloodline and becoming the can't-believe-they're-not-Jedi of the next generation.
    @DarthSnow

(I.e. "Skywalker" becomes a new organizational title)

I mean, what is the German version of the title, translated to english. SkywalkerS? Not trying to be rude, but why is it SkywalkerS? In english, that usually means plural.

Ah get it! Sorry, it's the singular s- genitive.

Well, German follows other rules than English. As @RockyRoadHux already mentioned the s is the singular s-genitive. Another example would be "Der Aufstieg Ben Solos". Solos isn't plural here.
"Der Aufstieg DER Skywalkers" would be plural. "Der Aufstieg Skywalkers" would be more translated as "Skywalker's Rising/Ascent" than "The Rise Of Skywalker".

and here's me still trying to figure out what 'Return of the Jedi' means lol :D

I suspect that this may well be one of those titles that could remain open to interpretation long after the saga is over.

my heart rules my head though with this wager..

IX'S TITLE OF "TROS" REFERS TO..... Ben

In French and Spanish is singular.
And I read some reddit comments made by native speakers (I can't remember the post, sorry) specifying that in both cases
they also chose to translate "rise" with verbs that allude to something "religious/mystical".
I am still waiting for the italian version, I'll let you know if that's the case too.

If so, however, then I even more bet 300 credits is mainly about Anakin.

Rey is a clone of Shmi, the original Skywalker. It also explains why Daisy says that the idea of Reylo is disgusting to her, in a tongue and cheek sort of way.
So "Old Character with new reveal"

    @DarthSnow 200 Credits

    I don't think Rey is a clone.
But if they're going to do something like this (as I'am speculating since TFA) then Shmi was a kind of surrogate mother/vessel
that Sheev used manipulating the Force to have the Chosen One born in his life time.
In short he "stole" the Chosen One from x future and he put him into Shmi's womb.

Things went as we know, but... the Chosen One has to come now, regardless. Because this is the moment it was supposed to happen.
If so, Rey is the Chosen One - no more no less than Anakin, in a sense they are one and the same - or she is the "true" Shmi.
    In any case... a Skywalker.
