There are three suns (you are right!) but one of them is part of another scene (struzan does that in several posters).

Well, now we get into grey areas. Two scenes with three suns, three scenes with one sun or one scene with three suns? What I would ask is if you are invoking common sense - and you have by asking us to use our eyes - that you compare these scenes to dual sun Tatooine scenes that have come before. I have not done so and am going by memory, but I'm quite confident that the suns portrayed in this painting don't, under any configuration, resemble the suns of Tatooine. Let's put this under the eyeball test, as you requested, and see how it measures up.

In terms of colors I would say it's the way Struzan depicts deserts not only for Star Wars, but also for Indiana Jones. It's a typical Struzan palete.

Jmjawors... Fine. I mean, I don't know why I came back discussing this. It's Sunday 10 a.m. and I'm not going to keep diacussing on a Star Wars poster. For me it's clear that using a moisture vaporator to illustrate Jakku is more than an evidence. If it's not for you, it's fine!. Maybe we end up finding out it's a moon close to Tatooine and non of us was 100℅ right. Whatever, I am sure we can find better things to do on Sunday.

    Have a great day :)

The middle sun with the X wing scene has clouds like in the trailer.

I'll defer to you on that. But if he's depicting the iconic dual suns of Tatooine, he would make his painting resemble them. Here, there is no resemblance. Instead, what's depicted here is a single setting sun as seen in the skies above Rey and Finn, as seen behind X-wings, and as seen behind a moisture vaporator. Three scenes, one sun.

The only reason for keeping it a secret that Jakku is Tattooine would be if many if not most of the things that "leaked" about the movie would be false...

I thought we have already sorted that Jakku was not Tatooine.

    Um... not really.

Everything still happens on a desert planet. The only thing that changes is the name.

Actally it's much darker and grittier more like a apocalyptic wasteland, wich explains why Rey is tougher then Luke on Tatooine. She wouldn't have to much of a hard time on Tatooine.
I don't expect something like this on Jakku.

I doubt there will be any ruins, it's a wasteland scarred by a major battle that occurred recently

    Tatooine are Space Western homesteads and frontier towns;
Jakku seems to be scavenger haunts and survivor settlements.
In my book, these are not the same at all, even though both happens to be in sandy environments. (And I am prapared to receive red marks for these)

That battle occurs 29-30 years before The Force Awakens.

The sun observation is interesting-- but as not interesting to me as the fact half the poster is a light side, the other a dark side--and Rey straddles the two...

IMHO, the tri-sun composition on the D23-poster is only plot relevant if we also accept that Kylo Ren is a giant, with TIE fighters flying below his chin, yet above the stairs of the Bespin carboinite freezing chamber.
(Hint: The poster is obviously a collection of cinematic scenes/images/inspirations, and not ment to represent an actual action sequence in the movie! That Finn has a lightsaber is relevant, however :) )

Can't we at least say "Woah, a moisture vaporator and multiple suns over a desert...that DOES kinda seem like Tatooine." Maybe its just Jakku....but then again...maybe it's Tatooine. Only time will tell. And @Angelman as I always do...lets just take line of thinking to the extreme and get it over with: That's not Kylo or Rey or Han. Those are peices of glossy paper printed with four intermingled inks to replicate a painting by Drew with some TFA graphics....we get it, its just a painting...and paintings aren't real...and Star Wars isn't real. But, like JJ said, there are clues out there for those who want to look. Y'all are just refusing to even consider this, it seems.

Side note: I believe they canted the original artwork for the teaser poster. That slant doesn't seem very Drewlike.

I find the Tatooine theory to be rather ridiculous at this point. There is quite literally no reason to hide the planet's name other than to screw with us, and that's not JJ's style. The only time he's outright lied to the fans was the Khan-debacle, and he's clearly laid that out in interviews as the studio putting pressure on him to do so. If he lied now, that's a pattern and any good-will he has with fans will be gone forever. The Mystery Box isn't about deceiving us or tricking us, it's about preserving as much of the film as possible; actually, there's also a mystery component, laying out small clues to try and lure fans into figuring things out if they really follow the marketing, which keeps the hype going where flat-out reveals would give hype that eventually dies off. We know that some of the clues so far are red herrings, and I'm willing to bet that the "multiple suns" in the D23 poster are just that: red herrings, designed to continue the speculation. It's plain as day that those are an artistic licence, but because people don't want to accept that we have another planet similar to Tatooine, it ends up fueling discussion until opening night.

Now that you mention it, it's blatant that they did. I really like this poster, but now I can't look at it without tilting my head and trying to fix the cant...
