I absolutely loved Jedi: Fallen Order. Along with Rogue One, I consider it to be the best Star Wars content put out during the Disney Star Wars era. So you could imagine my excitement when a sequel was revealed to be in the works.

My thoughts about the trailer is that it's intentionally left vague, which is a good thing. Although I'm glad that Cal Kestis is returning as the protagonist, I'm not entirely sold on the fact that this is supposedly set 5 years after the first game. It's a pretty big leap forward in time between stories, the only direct sequel with a bigger time gap is TPM and AOTC (10 years). I don't really care if there'll be novels or comicbooks released to fill up the time gap, I think those things should be explored in an actual game. When the first game ended I felt that there was SO much to explore with the characters left (Cal, Cere, Greez and Merrin). 5 years is a long time and a LOT can happen in that time. Hopefully though, the whole Mantis crew will be back in some capacity.

In regards to the story, I've got a feeling that this game is going to be much darker and perhaps even hint at Cal struggling with the Dark side (something which never really happend in the first game except for a short future vision). I'd like to see that, since second chapters should really be about characters struggling. So as much as I want to see the whole Mantis crew back together, I think it would be good for Cal to be alone quite a bit in this story. Nevertheless, the developers at Respawn have already said that the romantic tension between Cal and nightsister Merrin in the first game was intentional. I don't know if they're going forward with that thing, but if they do it could definitely lead to some problems for Cal in regards to the old Jedi way of "forbidden love" and the fear of losing Merrin could set him on a path to the Dark side.

Besides those initial thoughts, here are some things I want to see in the game:

    - More clothing options for Cal, including actual Jedi robes
    - More stuff to do on the Mantis, such as play guitar, play chess with the crew mates, and even eat stuff
    - Be able to play as nightsister Merrin
    - Higher forcejumps by holding the X-button a bit before release
    - The ability to do forcespeed by pressing the O-button while running, or forcespeed in the air while pressing the O-button
    - Fast-travel between Savepoints after completing the game aswell as in New Game+
    - Customisible blasters
    - A city planet to explore (Coruscant? Nar Shaddaa?)
    - More alien planets with strange vegetation
    - As much as I think it's beeen overused already.... seeing Tatooine would be nice

I want the Dark Apprentice from the Force Unleashed II as the final boss for Cal in this latest, clone centered Star Wars story.

I know they nuked it, but I want to see Plagueis in some form as Cal searches thru sub levels under the rubble of his old lab on Sojourn.

In terms of gameplay, I’d love to see some more populated planets. The first game takes place pretty much in the middle of nowhere, it’s all monsters and stormtroopers. I’d love to go to a city planet with lots of civilians and other NPCs.

It’s probably outside the scope of the game, but that also opens the door for Assassin’s Creed-like mechanics where you have to hide your force powers and your lightsaber, or else the local law enforcement will catch you.

Maybe it's petty of me and wrong to ask, but I want the best of both Mass Effect and Horizon: Zero Dawn (I haven't played Forbidden West since I don't have a PS5 and am a little scared to due to a spoiler I know of) in Jedi Survivor. (Which basically means I want KOTOR, since ME is basically KOTOR's successor, and HZD is the new ME in terms of creating a new expansive SFF single-player video game world.)

I want multiple partners who can travel around with me, and I can have conversations with and they with each other, like in Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda. I want dialogue to change depending on who I brought on the mission, like all the Mass Effect games. I want to be able to play as different characters, even if I can't really take Cal out of the party, so I can have fun experimenting with different builds and mains and whatnot. Or at least give me different weapons so I can have different builds, like in HZD and the KOTOR games.

I want a better hub ship than the Mantis, and for enough time to pass so that whatever crew I gather can actually come together to feel like a team or a family. (Like ME 2 and 3.) I want worlds I can visit, hubs I can explore that have cities and people and dialogue and their own identities, like both aforementioned franchises. (And KOTOR.)

I want a more expansive story in terms of characters and interactions, but I also want the intimacy that JFO had with its main villain. And I 100% hope that the Grand Inquisitor isn't the main villain.

OH, and Obi-Wan Kenobi spoilers, but
I hope Reva is playable. This is supposed to take place five years after JFO, right? That means it takes about the same time as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and within the same year as A New Dawn. A Kanan cameo isn't out of the picture...even though I'd personally still prefer Kanan and Cal to be the same character. This is an old idea though, for rewrite, perhaps.
Reva would be great especially considering Trilla's downfall and Cere's guilt. She could be a young woman looking for guidance, while Cere is may be an older woman looking for a second shot with a fallen apprentice.

Those are my thoughts right now, but I'm positive I'll have more.

Altaïr is basically Quinlan Vos with a hoodie & a haircut, while Ezio is the Renaissance equivalent of Han Solo with better banking skills.... so I'm in. Also, Shay is Vader.

That's a very good point. On the other hand, it would be very graphically demanding from a developer's perspective to have levels filled with civilians and NPC's. As much as I want to explore such a densely populated city planet, I'm not sure if they'll do that or if it would be logical story-wise. The teaser trailer hints at a Coruscant location, but if we actually get to travel there in the game I bet it'll be some remote industrial location that's more sparsely populated. I mean, it wouldn't make sense for a Jedi to be flashing one's lightsaber or Force powers in public anyway - so we even enter such places? Besides, I find the criminal underworld of Coruscant to be quite fascinating.

With the first game, one of my Pie in the Sky wishes was for the endgame to have an almost Halo Reach-like ending, with one objective- survive. I envisioned Cal having to just be on the run, constantly pursued by Vader, being able to gain a bit of time if he managed to jump to a new planet, but otherwise just delaying the inevitable- Vader is coming, and you cannot win.

We kind got echoes of that- bounty hunters populated the maps later in the game, Vader did make a terrifying appearance, and the Mantis' travel was actually pretty smooth. I could see a system like this working, if this is the last appearance of Cal in the end. Or, at the very least, the inclusion of a non-canon survival mode could be cool.

Other things I'd like to see:

-expanded customization options (more outfits, less poncho)

-less flora/fauna enemies, more Imperial baddies

-more "exotic gameplay" moments (example of this would be controlling the AT-AT, for instance. Anything that deviates from the typical gameplay)

    - More emergent gameplay moments, think dragon appearances in Skyrim (the Vader thing above is definitely one, but random bounty hunters etc could be fun. Make the map less predictable.

    - less focus on Soulsborne or Metroidvania, more focus on making a good action game.

I've always seen Haytham as Vader, but I think that's just because that way it fits better with Connor being Luke in ACIII.

That said... Shay's betrayal does echo Anakin more.

I had to hash that out with Anakin....

After a bit of a tussle; we agreed for once and went with Shay for the same reason.

Big, fat, outrageous sith lightning like in Jedi Academy. I know it wouldn't be very Jedi-like...

Perhaps a cutaway mission where you play as Palpatine alongside Vader, like the SW novel where they crash on a planet. Lord of the Sith I think? It could be like in Battlefront where you played as a Luke briefly.

I have loved Jedi Fallen Order! I hope they will connect well to it.
The gameplay combat was fun, I even forgot about how weird the puzzle/obstacle course level are realistically
and the story and set design played a huge part in that. I have heard some criticisms on that, that it is not actually an open world per se and takes people out of it thinking how much video game the levels are, but actually, it was one of the strong appeals for me gameplay wise. Sometimes, the backtracking for ponchos was tedious, going through the same map X times, but the obstacles and puzzles made it incredibly fun. I hope they don't go full open world, because running through simple wastelands with repeating designs and patterns like in Assasin's Creed, just to deliver something from point A to B or to open chest or find a carcass and getting some EXP for it is more tedious to me.

Storywise, I have loved the planet designs and feel and I loved how the game was a small scale and personal fight for the crew, with small details of the grand scale that Star Wars is known for.
I hope for more of those, like basically finding out that Illum is heavily mined and is probably a Starkiller Base in the making!
Without the character having a clue.
Or that whole archeology side mission with new lore and information, I loved it. More archeology please!
I'd love to tackle some hundreds of years mysteries that are long forgotten.
Second Sister was such a cool villain character with a tragic backstory, that it makes Reva feel incredibly cheap and bad written in comparison.
The Dathomir after Clone Wars and the whole story of Cal dealing with Clone Wars, uncovering another stories from there with his force ability to sense though objects.

As simple and straightforward the first game was, it was jam packed with stuff that worked so well together.
I expect something like that in the sequel. Somehow I hoped that they will jump into hyperspace at the end of Fallen Order, like Ventress did in the legacy comic books to live happily ever after away from the Empire and I would be OK with such ending.
So that makes me not only excited for the sequel and curious, but also setting up some high expectations.

One of my thoughts are, that with all that happened in the first game, they should keep the band on low profile.
They have tackled many imperial sites, went against Inquisitors and survived an impossible stand off with Darth Vader,
I don't believe that they can casually stroll around the galaxy now as they had problems with that even before.

I am so hyped :) Let the force be with the developers!

After watching an (ongoing) LP of God of War: Ragnarök and watching my brother-in-law play and beat the game, I've decided that if Jedi: Survivor doesn't treat companions like GoWR does at best or Mass Effect at worst, I'll be sorely disappointed. One of my biggest gripes with JFO, as seen in my desires in my above comment, was how little the companions were used in the story, as the character interactions (allies and villains alike) were some of the best in the story. Mass Effect always had a great way of allowing players to build teams of characters for missions with unique and varied dialogue - one of the many things old-school BioWare was known for and excelled in - while Ragnarok always has some fun dialogue to listen to and interesting and deep companions even if they all work similarly at times. A hybrid method would allow players to truly explore characters without them being playable.

And good post-game content too I suppose.
