While reading this it reminded me of Jerusalem, where both Jews and Muslims claim the same spot for religious reasons and right. Would be interesting to see what became of such a sacred site.

I have stated in other discussions but I really want to see holocrons, force ghosts, and sith relics in the new trilogies.

Precisely my vision when I posted. Temple Mount in Jerusalem has been constantly fought over for THOUSANDS of years...everyone has some sort of "valid" claim to it.....enter the Jedi temple on Coruscant.

As for the relics, etc; If Kylo is the "relic hunting fanboy" that we've heard, I think we're going to be in for a treat...at least it's possible. Also, to me it only makes sense to have a Force Ghost or two...it gives a deeper meaning to "The Force" and what it is.

Luke hasn't become "the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy" over the last 30 years by himself...not to say that it was impossible, but in the novel "Heir to the Jedi" he could BARELY move a noodle on a table with his mind. He undoubtedly had much advice conveyed to him from the force itself as well as prior living Jedi THROUGH the Force....ghosts.

I don't think Luke has been alone for 30 years I think more like 15.
Because what events was there after ROTJ?
1.Battle of Jakku. Just how long was this war and how long between this and ROTJ?
2.Becoming an uncle. Shortly after the Battle of Jakku you know Rey and Ren where born.
3.Jedi Academy. Training Rey and Ren Solo, and others the ways of the force.
4.Jedi Academy Massacre. His padawans being killed, Rey surviving, as they think Ren is dead.

So force ghosts? Yup. Because we saw in the OT Luke talking to them, and at the end of ROTJ there was a group of them. Yoda or Obi-wan force ghost? I think Yoda. Unless Disney gets Ewan to reprise his role as Obi-wan as a force ghost.

While I respect your thoughts ... if you reread your post @Greg Kirby there are a few assumptions being made

    Hmmm...

That was an interesting video about Force Ghosts. It makes me feel that the secrecy around Vader becoming one will play a role in the ST.

Personally, I do believe that Luke is guarding a Sith Shrine. But, it's not a shrine to Plagueis, Revan, Bane or anyone like that. Instead it's a shrine for his father. He guards it so Vader (the Dark Side of Anakin) will not become resurrected somehow.

I also think believe Luke slaughtered people who were trying to resurrect Vader. Luke just couldn't let anyone mess with his family any more. And, since this was Anakin's lightsaber, it will end up being a key to unlocking Vader.

I really don't want to see Vader back, but I think from the trailer and Kylo Ren's obsession with him, it might become the focus of the ST.

But is a character who is nuts and hears Vader's voice "bringing back Vader?"

But is a psuedo-religious faction who worships the Sith and their most recent super-star Vader "bringing back Vader?"

But is a grandson of Vader who thinks that mom's way of ruling the galaxy won't actually work and the last time there was a orderly stable system was under Vader. So he researches everything he can and hopes to live up the granddad's glory. Is that "bringing back Vader?"

I agree that if Darth Vader walks out on screen I will get really skeptical real quick but there are ways of dealing with Vader's legacy and impact on the future of the GFFA without shamelessly bringing back Darth "McCashcow" Vader.

Yeah, I never liked the idea of Vader returning from the old Latino Review articles. In fact, I really hoped that Vader would not be a part of the plot whatsoever, and yet we see his helmet and Ren obsessing over it. But yeah, that's how I see this ST boiling down in a nutshell.

Well it seems that my old question has been answered; "Was/is Luke ever made aware of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant"....or what's left of it? In the latest issue of Marvel's Star Wars comic (#8), Luke is looking for a ride to the temple in search of Jedi information.....so he IS aware of it!!

Of Course the problem, is that the timeline of the comic is Post-ANH, so I think he's unaware that the Emperor is LIVING there. Now knowing that he's aware of the Temple, it would only reason that after ROTJ, that he'd venture there to try to find any remnants of the archives.

The best part, is that we're made aware of the fact that Luke now KNOWS about it.

I really like the direction they're going with this. Perhaps Luke's potential visit to the Jedi Temple / Sith Shrine is how Palpatine learns abouts Luke's existence? We know from the comics, that Vader isn't sharing that info with his master.
