JJ Abrams Says No More Trailers

At this point I'm fine with no more trailers. We've seen a good amount already in teasers, trailer, and convention footage, and it's only a month and a half (roughly) until release.

 

I think for some people it feels like more is needed due to the sheer size of the movie and the fact that the first teaser came out almost a year ago. That alone has made this year seem very long, particularly when nothing more than a vague small rumor is floating about. Perhaps it was too early and it fueled desire for more info, but at the same time you could say the early release was the result of an already-present massive desire to see how the film was shaping up. They seemed forced into it in a sense.

 

I want more.....about 2 hours and 12 minutes more.

 

As others have said, I think what we've gotten is absolutely perfect. We have a solid release date for the film, which is weeks away now. I would honestly prefer no more new footage, maybe just a few bits of info here and there to keep us internet nerds satisfied in the coming days leading up to the 16th. What has been shown has accomplished its purpose: to excite both hardcore and common fans alike, without showing/spoiling the story. And, given the quality of both teasers, behind the scenes footage, and the trailer, what more could you ask for?

It's a damn exciting time to be a SW fan, and we're right there in the middle of it.

 

I would like him to release a complete or partial scene. We have not had dialog at all except for excerpts.

 

They still need a plot synopsis... and I feel that if they dont' get some of the controversial things out of the way (such as Luke having minimal screen time) their secrecy may just backfire.

It will be sad to see people detracting from the movie with negative comments when they learn that Luke isn't in there for more than 15 minutes, when they should be talking about how good the film was.


It will be interesting to see if there's any new material in the TV advertising or any upcoming featurettes.
I'm looking forward to seeing those...
