So, news broke that Tarantino is making an "R" rated Star Trek for Paramount with J.J. Ambrams.

Abrams is currently drafting/finishing the script for 9... or at least doing polishes to a script...

Do you think there will be some "bleed-over," of ideas?

If all that bleeds over is that it is darker & more R-rated, count me in. I doubt we ever get an R-rated Star Wars film & honestly, that may not feel right; but a dark PG-13 film is fine by me.

again and again, i hope he will give the right stuff to finn as he was the one who asked JB to audition and be part of his squad
rey is definitely the lead that will have a lot of dynamics with ben... but i cant see the reason for having finn doing just another rebel mission... he should be made as weaker type of jedi or like malcom from the EU that could take on sith lord 1 on 1

My thinking on this is .... I love Chipotle nachos and I love ice cream. But would I want Chipotle nacho-flavored ice cream? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not dismissing it - not at all. It's a very potent combination. But potent doesn't always mean good. I'm eager to see what the come up with. I'm thinking Star Trek meets Aliens meets The New Mutants meets Arrival - with a sprinkling of Pulp Fiction ....... ?????? ...... !!!!!!

I like Tarantino's movies. But they are kinda all the same movie.
Also, everyone would end up dead. And he would have to resurrect Mace Windu because Samuel L. Jackson is a mandatory presence on his movies.

Not a chance. How would he work in a constant stream of f-bombs and his favorite racial epithet?

No. But the opening scene to Inglorious Basterds is one of my favourites and it would be cool to see something like that play out. Perhaps a way of introducing a new FO villain who is picking off the leaders of the Resistance one by one?

Nope! I also wish J.J. focused on IX instead of juggling projects. (Yeah, I know his Star Trek role is smaller but still.)

I loved the Star Trek 2009 reboot, I thought it was awesome! It's my second favorite of the franchise after Wrath of Khan. I didn't care for 'Into Darkness' or 'Beyond' really though. Tarantino has made some good movies as well. Could be interesting, but I don't know if Star Trek is a good fit for Tarantino.

Tarantino is great at setting up the pieces and developing the story till you land on a scene with maximum tension. Personally, I'd love for him to review the script and give JJ feedback.

It's not like his feedback would be "more f-bombs" or "more killing" or "this scene needs to just be people talking about space burgers for 10 minutes". It would be structural, storytelling feedback.

Remember how well he moved between storylines in Inglourius Basterds? I'd love to have that writer give input on the next Star Wars. JJ is great with character dynamics, but he's not great with plot (the Starkiller 3rd act in TFA is really bad, you guys). I think Tarantino involved in a kind of story group consulting capacity could be a great balance for JJ and bring out the best in him.

Of course not. Fandoms would clash!
But on the other hand, as we learned in TLJ, war is just beginning ...
