SPECULATION JJ using EU Solo twins?

Daisy looks far too young to be Driver's twin, she's a baby up against him. Brother and sister perhaps? Possible but I don't think so, maybe even cousins but - they have slight look of each other but over all, am still not feeling it.

 

Totally possible considering Driver is 31 and Ridley is 22. /end sarcasm

They look closer in age. I'd easily pass off Ridley as a teenager and Driver looks way older than her.

 

Its a ten years age gap basically. He just looks too old in my opinion but if others interpret differently who am I judge.

I think there are several things from the EU that have been remixed and twisted into a new story.

I think Rey and Ren are siblings but not necessarily twins.

I think Kylo Ren has a similar feel to his name as Exar Kun. Exar was a jedi who collected sith artifacts and was gathering knowledge accidentally awoke a long dead Sith who gave him secret knowledge. Exar killed the undead sith spirit and went on to cause a lot of problems. Exar himself came back from the dead screwed around with Luke and students in the new jedi order possessing a few of them. Before Exar died the first time he was stopped by Nimoi Sunrider. Sunrider has a similar iconography to the name as Rey.

They look totally different and the age gap is obvious, him being her older reckless brother is a possibility.
Realistic viewed, Driver don't look like a Solo/Organa offspring to me.
By the way, I would like it, when not every new introduced character is related.
That is my opinion, but every person has a different taste.
If Driver is a Solo, I can handle it

 

Lots of people say Ford and Driver don't look a like but I think they have similar features with driver having darker hair. But both Driver and Ford have that smirk.

 

I know sometimes it's hard and frustrating, to bear up and fight for the opinion against superior numbers.
Just think about it for a second, Disney don't cancelled the EU just for fun, they want a fresh new start.
Why should they use the twin storyline? (it's known and nothing new for the die-hard fans)
I don't want to criticize the EU books, but I think most of them were decent and not great.
The best work was the Thrawn trilogy in my opinion and I even think it had some flaws too.
(Thrawn and Talon Karrde were a good addition, I even liked both more as Mara Jade)

 

Disney owns a pretty big publisher and it owns a little outfit named MARVEL comics. Why keep books going they have to profit share on the old EU when the EU was dead already. Think about it the EU was already declared to be "not what GL would have done." Lucas long maintained that when the time came he would make changes. So the existing EU was going to get largely edited and contradicted as it was.

Now Disney gets to borrow great ideas from the EU that a lot of fans already like (free market testing). It gets to have a fresh crack at publishing new stories from all over the GFFA

 

I agree with you, Disney would be stupid if they don't use the material in some way.
I don't know if Disney plans to rehash a old EU story in a different setting/guise for TFA, but I have the gut feeling that they want something new.
Arndt and Kasdan are script writers, they want to put their own stamps on it.
Maybe they will use EU stuff for brainstorming and to get a creative output.
