I'm not sure if anyone has done this yet, but this thread will discuss the Jurassic Park franchise

    th6M8YIPM6.jpg

    Just to note
I have not watched much of this franchise(only most of the first one) I just started watching it and so far I like it. Well any scum in the Cantina are free to tear through this thread.. Just watch out! I might release some terrifying Dino's at you!

The T-Rex scene in the first one was really good

By far the best theme song ever. Even better than Star Wars.

I watched this one last night at the Alamo Drafthouse. Duke pretty much nailed the recap. it was a fun movie. they made a few cool references to the old movies.

I have to say (Without spoiling anything, of course) that this was the first time I had a hard time breathing walking out of the Cinema. It was THAT good. Nostalgia tears filling up the 3D glasses to the Point where I had to empty them like you do with snorkeling gear. I'm seeing it for the second time tomorrow!

Jurassic Park was the fourth or fifth movie that I saw at the theathers. I was 10 years old and my grandma took me to see it. Was probably the best experience that I had in a movie theather. Love it!

Jurassic Park, the park with a Cretaceous period (not Jurassic) dinosaur on its logo!

I'm a huge Jurassic Park fan. I saw it in the theater when I was 13 and it blew me away. Especially that first scene where you see the dinosaurs, I probably looked the same way Grant did. For a second I was sitting there wondering "Did these fools really clone some damn dinosaurs?". I came to my senses and realized it was special effects, but I had no clue how they did it. I knew right then it was a game changer though. Without knowing what CGI was I thought that from that day forward, with that type of technology, there was nothing they couldn't do in movies and they'd be the better for it. Little did I know that it's overuse would come to annoy me so much over the years.

I've never been really big into the sequels. I don't know what I was doing when the second one came out, I was in high school and had a driver's license by then and dinosaur movies weren't a big priority for me. I saw the third on cable several times over the years and thought it was OK but not near as good as the first, then I finally saw the second when I bought the Blu Ray box a few years back. I like it more than the third, but it's still a far cry from the first and is pretty strange and feels slapped together. I've only seen the new one once, it was OK but I prefer all the other 3. I didn't care about any of the characters, and by this stage in life just showing me a CGI dinosaur isn't the same thrill it was when I was 13.

I got all the films on blu-ray huge fan as well. The little girl that got eaten by those small raptors chilling... always wanted to see how much damage they did. Could she survive?... her mom's scream says it all.

The bites were inquisitive in nature and not necessarily kill bites. Plus fast medical attention...
In the book, I believe she's only bitten by a single one...

Ah, Jurassic Park. Dinosaurs were "my thing" in elementary school. When I was really young, I wanted to be a dinosaur when I grew up (Littlefoot was my hero). Later on, I wanted to be a paleontologist; and then Jurassic Park came around. I can still do a pretty convincing raptor screech. ;)

When Ian and Hammond are talking, Hammond says:

"A few weeks ago, a British family on a yacht cruise stumbled across the island and their wee girl was injured. She's fine. But the board has used the incident to take control of InGen from me."

So, not dead, but probably slightly maimed. In the first novel, the bite of the compsognathus had a sedative effect, in which a group of them would bite their prey a bunch of times and knock it out, then they'd eat it. At the beginning of JP2, the adults are alerted to the trouble by the girl screaming. I'd imagine that if the girl was still screaming, that meant she was still awake and they hadn't actually begun eating her yet; that is, if they kept the same idea from the novel.
