Star Tours, the classic Star Wars ride at Disney theme parks, will be receiving some updates later this year along with the release of The Rise Of Skywalker. The details also confirm a few things about the movie, including the home world of new character Jannah, which is the location of the main Death Star II wreckage seen in the marketing for the film.

Announced today on the Disney Parks Blog, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be adding new destinations and characters inspired by the latest episode of the Star Wars saga, The Rise of Skywalker. Updates will be coming to Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris as well as Tokyo Disney Resort.

Fun news about the ride aside, this oceanic moon of Kef Bir confirms that the parts of the wreckage of Death Star II we see in The Rise of Skywalker are not on the forest moon of Endor. It remains to be seen whether Kef Bir is one of the Endor system's nine moons. It would be interesting if all nine moons wound up with parts of the wreckage, leaving a glimmer of hope for fans dying to see the return of the Ewoks on the forest moon.

The update to the park ride is coming soon, and so is The Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters on December 19.

In any case I am still not sold that what we are seeing is DS2, as the emperor's throne room is not correct. His throne is not elevated above the bottom 1/5th of the window, and also does not have the "Vader tumble" steps leading up to it. Honestly, if anything I think it is the DS1. This would explain why the throne room is different. However, it still doesn't explain why it isn't located on one of the planets or moons of Endor or Yavin. The primary weapon dish profile also doesn't match the DS2, but does match DS1 more closely.

Well if there is a Forest Moon of Endor, could there be an Ocean Moon of Endor with the name Kef Bir?

And it has to be DS2. The whole point is to remind people of the Emporer's Throne Room from ROTJ. When it smashed into the ocean, the 'floor' (the bottom of the staircase) probably shifted up. The force of that, time, and ocean waves probably knocked out the Vader Fall staircase.

I think you are right on the money. It has to be one of the other moons of Endor. It's an easy way to explain where it is, and plausible since the forest moon being reffered to specifically as "the forest moon of Endor" implies that there are more moons. So yeah, I would also say it has to be DS2.

Wow! Great eye for detail! Unfortunately, I'm guessing that this is just a case of you having a better eye for detail than the makers of the movie. The window should be lower, but the stairs could be just behind Kylo. It does like there is too much distance from the chair to where the stairs should be though. I'd have to look at ROTJ more closely.

I'm no scientist, but the DS2 was dwarfed by Endor's moon. I'm of the opinion that any wreckage should have ended up on Endor's forest moon. It also would have been cool to visit an OT location.

Another theory I just came up with, as the Station was in orbit around the Forest moon, it would have most likely ended up there. However, in order to protect the environment, perhaps the debris still floating in space was hauled off to another planet that was not inhabited, so collateral damage from the superstructure falling onto the planet would be mitigated.

It would make complete sense, if this is indeed DS1, the empire would have wanted to hide the folly of it's existence and destruction. Therefore I can see them hauling the evidence off to an out of the way planet for disposal. Given that it is known in some of the novels that the Empire denied ever having the DS1, and also that it was simply "Rebel propaganda" to instill fear.

...I think I just nailed it.

Maybe they are going after Obi Wan's light saber.. or something else that may have been left on DS1...

Looking at the picture below, it looks like there is still too much space between the chair and the first set of steps.

I think the plateau with the throne just fell to the ground, that's why the throne is at the bottom of the window now. The stairs can be found on the right probably as a result of the massive impact when the DS debris hit the ground.
