Kenobi Predictions!

It's worth remembering that O-WK won't be a Favreau/Filoni show so don't expect too much overlap with the Mandoverse.

That said, I expect (but won't be butthurt if it doesn't come true) the following:

• Live-action Inquisitors (that's all but confirmed)
• Ian McDiarmid cameoing as The Emperor
• Liam Neeson and/or Natalie Portman cameos in flashbacks
• Liam Neeson and/or Yoda as Force Ghosts (most likely Yoda IMHO)
• Jimmy Smith cameoing as Bail Organa, possibly only for cut-away context to the overall plot
• Young Leia, again, possibly only for cut-away context
• Young Luke, probably only at a distance
• Temuera Morrison cameoing as one or more clones in flashbacks
• Jabba the Hutt
• Tusken Raiders
• Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley
  
• Vader's Castle
• I predict we'll NOT see Tarkin or Maul (whom people seem to expect will show up)
• Odd-ball prediction: Joonas Suotamo will reprise his role as Chewbacca ('cause it almost seems like Kenobi knows him already when they talk in ANH)
  
• and finally, I expect the fans will growl when their fan theories doesn't pan out...

 

Please no unnecessary guest appearances. It's okay for the Mandoverse, but characters like Han, Ahsoka, Grogu, etc. have no place in this show. I want my Kenobi show to be focused.

Characters like Qui-Gon and the Emperor make sense though and that's the point. Only use characters who have a business for the plot.

Don't worry, I'm not expecting that my "Mace Windu as a crazy villain" theory will happen. Hahahaha!

No info thus far, I'm afraid. Göransson & John Powell are common specualtions, but both are completely unsubstantiated at this point.

Are you saying you don’t already?

Here are some of my random predictions. Some are safe, some are Maul-levels of crazy:

• The first episode or two will revolve around Kenobi on Tatooine, dealing with PTSD and watching over Luke.
  
• We’re going to see some of the Lars’ quarrel with Kenobi brought on-screen. Random prediction but we’re going to see Owen punch Kenobi for some reason.
  
• Live-action Clone Wars Ahsoka in at least one Clone Wars flashback with Hayden and Ewan.
• There’s going to be a scene with a ton of Inquisitors just going HAM and everyone will lose their minds.
• Live-action helicopter lightsabers, but done in a way that are badass and make people do a complete 180. Or at least the first half of that sentence.
• James Arnold Taylor will cameo as someone in the show. Imperial Officer? Stormtrooper? Another Tatooine hobo? Who knows!
• Watto cameo.
• Vader is going to kill whoever the main, original Inquisitor is in this series. (As in one who doesn’t appear in Rebels.)
• Bail and young Leia will factor into the plot somehow. We get a Threepio and R2 cameo somewhere here.
• Qui-Gon’s spirit haunts Obi-Wan but doesn’t physically manifest or intervene until the final episode by distracting Vader. This will give Kenobi a chance to escape from Vader in a way that makes it plausible for everyone but Vader to think that he dies.
• The series will end on a shot of Alex Guiness Obi-Wan, most likely in the same vein as Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian. Maybe the series will even end off on the scene where Kenobi does the Krayt Dragon call.
• Cody will somehow factor in as an antagonist.
• We’ll somehow see Obi-Wan’s message from Rebels.
• We’re going to see Obi-Wan dual wield his saber with Anakin’s at some point. Maybe even see if he actually did end up with Qui-Gon’s saber too.
• Obi-Wan will go to Tosche Station at some point. Same set as from TBOBF.
• We’re going to see the moment where Ovi-Wan realizes Vader lived through their duel. Maybe that could be the ending scene of one of the first two episodes.
• We’ll see Kenobi communicate with Yoda at some point. Kinda like Ezra did in Rebels.
• Live-action Clone Wars armor in some flashbacks.
• Kenobi will somehow allude to Padme believing that there’s still good in Anakin to Vader, echoing Vader’s line in ROTJ. “Obi-Wan once thought as you do.”
• Deborah Chow is going to have a scene where she gets to have a bunch of Stormtroopers get destroyed. Maybe Obi-Wan has to fight a ton of them and we see why he thinks they’re so precise in ANH.
• Yes, we’re absolutely going to hear “Hello There” again.

I never considered this, and it's an interesting idea, but this triggered a thought. What does this actually mean for Obi-Wan's statement in TESB?

"If you choose to face Vader, you will do it alone. I cannot interfere..."​

What does Obi-Wan allude to here? Will we get an explanation as to why Force Ghosts can't intervene when Jedi face real-life Sith? (If that's indeed what Obi-Wan means there)? And, can Force Ghost Qui-Gon Jinn somehow intervene when Obi-Wan faces Vader, even though Obi-Wan cannot when Luke does the same?

Here's a new prediction.

• We'll learn to better understand Force Ghosts and their limitations in O-WK

 

I was thinking about that too, but I think they could somehow bend the rules of what counts as “interfering”. After all, Qui-Gon was a rule breaker in real life.

I at least think we’re going to see Qui-Gon in a big way and possibly speak to Vader as well.

 

That's another thing I wonder about... Who, precisely, can see/interact with a Force Ghost? I mean, both Yoda & Luke are obviously haunted by Ghost-Kenobi, but Leia (or anybody else for that matter) doesn't appear to see Ghost-Anakin, -Yoda, & -Kenobi at the Ewok victory festival (and Leia is supposedly very powerful in the Force and well on Yoda's radar at that point). Say the Force Ghosts can actually be in Vader's presence (and Kenobi just chose to be a nob and leave Luke to his own good self), can Vader even see them? We know sooooo little about Force Ghosts and how it all works. I hope we learn more as the franchise move forward

 

I will consider this show somewhat of a failure if Qui Gon’s spirit/voice does not show up in some capacity. The transition of jedi Ben to spiritally-focused wise Ben seems to be the heart of Kenobi’s final days. This show should not dwell on inquisitors, planet-hopping

Disney’s handling of this is very ironic because I wanted Boba Fett to travel the galaxy (because that’s what bounty hunters do, go around looking for work.)
Book of Boba Fett mostly stayed in one spot.
For Kenobi, I want him to stay on Tatooine to learn how to communicate with his former master and look after Luke, but it looks like he’s going to travel the galaxy. Hopefully it makes more sense when we watch it.

I would suggest to all for more info concerning Force Ghosts to watch Season 6 Episodes 11 thru 13 of the TCW. Pretty sure Filoni had a heavy hand in those episodes and therefore, this would transfer over to the Obi Wan show.

And yes, when I take over the world, all will be wearing bath robes.
