Kenobi Predictions!

I think we’ll see all of this except Maul. The show seems packed enough as is, I don’t think bringing in the Maul rivalry is really necessary. And I think Maul being surprised that Kenobi is still alive on Tatooine in Rebels wouldn’t make a lot of sense if he just had an encounter with him a couple years ago here during this show.

 

Didn’t we see Obi Wan on Hoth, Degobah and Endor?

 

Yes, because Force Ghost Kenobi haunts Luke (where he is), not locations.

I.e. Force Ghosts can't gallop around wherever they want, to go on posthumous damn-fool, idealistic crusades. They appear to the people they are supposed to keep mentoring. That's how I always saw them, anyway.

 

Obviously we're going to see why Ben and Owen's relationship isn't exactly warm. I would like to see Owen and Beru enhanced a little. Perhaps they believe at least initially, that Kenobi should not be hopping around the system, around the galaxy, helping others (as it is his instinct) while leaving them to protect Luke. (Or maybe even the opposite of that). And it leads to them falling out.

I strongly believe that Owen and Beru will be forced to stick their neck out in order to safeguard Ben's identity, and/or Luke's.

 

Obi Wan will say, "Hello there"

 

Kind of an adaptation of a prediction I saw from the Mr. Sunday channel, but I don't think the reason Obi Wan leaves Tatooine is immediately linked to his or Luke's location- because if the Empire knows of even the planet either is on, then they'd surely have a huge presence there by the time of ANH.

Instead, I think a surviving Jedi makes their way to Mos Espa, and Kenobi saves them. Now, he and the Jedi have to escape Tatooine to actively draw attention away from the Lars homestead- emerge on another planet and cause trouble somewhere else. Unfortunately, I think Kenobi gets recognized in addition to the young jedi, and they get the full GTA Five Star treatment.

Come to think of it, this pitch sounds an awful lot like the Hawkeye show last year.

 

I'm looking forward to finding out how and why he reaches the decision to choose and change his name from 'Obi-Wan' to 'Ben'.

 

"Obi-Wan Kenobi" was indeed a name too far recognizable.

 

My only prediction: Obi-Wan Kenobi will barely appear in most episodes, while the main focus will be with Enquisitors and their pursuit of Jedi and Force users.

 

Marvel’s Star Wars comic book featuring Obi-Wan’s journal were spectacular, especially with Mike Mathew’s illustrations are gorgeous, to say the least. I fully understand that allot of fans don’t collect or read the comics, Owen’s and Obi-Wan’s internal issues were well written and illustrated in that series. It’s going to be a treat to see how they handle it in live action.

I don't mind Anakin being in this series. I just doin't see the need to shoe-horn in another lightsaber duel between him and Obi-Wan.

 

I wonder if some part of this series will be devoted to fleshing out Vader's statement to Luke "Obi-Wan once thought as you did..." from ROTJ.

The prequels as they are don't really show Obi-Wan actually try and turn Anakin back to the side of good. He accepts that he is "lost". So maybe now he needs to 'confront' him one more time, and believes and sees that there is still good within Vader and will try and turn him back to the light.

He will fail of course, and this failure is what will lead him to believe Vader is beyond all redemption and why Obi-Wan himself believes Luke would also fail if he tries, insisting instead that Vader must be killed.

Also, one more confrontation with Vader is perhaps needed for Obi-Want to reach the realisation that Anakin is "more machine than man" now. When last he saw him, none of that rebuilding of Anakin into Vader had happened yet.

 

A guess: The eopie's name will be Rooh, though I don't think it will be preggers.

 

One must look at the previous live action television shows to gage the direction of Obi Wan Kenobi. After taking that approach, here is what I think WILL happen, (not what I would like to see):
1- unfortunately, I expect the narrative to be a little over-stuffed and scattered.BOBF was like this, as I feel there will be so many “easter eggs” and cameos, the main storyline of Kenobi will be diluted and pushed to the side. However, on the bright side, I predict it will not be as bad, because Deberah Chow (as far as I know) is directing the entire thing, meaning there will be one singular director with a consistent vision.
2- Easter Eggs will be mostly Rebels, Fallen Order, and Legends. Yes, despite the Duel of the Fates overture in the trailer and the fact Hayden is back, Disney will still give prequel fans minimal references. I come to this conclusion 1) seeing how prequels have been handled in the past 2) the fact everything I’ve heard and seen so far in trailers/interviews/rumors have been about inquisitors and similar stuff.
3- Leia will be in it more than Luke. Because Kenobi goes off-planet, I feel like Leia will be featured much more than Luke, who must remain absent. After all, Luke in a new hope said “The Force?” As he truly knew nothing about Jedi and things of that nature. (This prediction also goes in line with rumors from making star wars dot net, which has been 100% accurate in the past.)
4- de-aged Alec Guiness placed over Ewan’s face in the end. I have no evidence for this, but I just have a feeling through the Force…
5- Qui Gon will be the next “what’s Rey’s parantage?” Or “why is Grogu important?” That will be gnawing on our minds till the end. In other words, I believe Qui Gon will be hinted at, we may even hear his voice, but his appearance will be at the end of the last episode, unfortunately.
6- Still no Podracing.
7- the show will be the best to re-unite the broken fandom. I truly believe this show will have a little bit of goodness for everyone. Of course, fans will disagree on the details, but I think it will ultimately be accepted by all.

 

Obi-Wan Kenobi premiere date has been moved.

 

I predict that Kenobi will be sidelined in his own show and overshadowed by a stunning and brave new character.

 

Perhaps

 

He'll strain a muscle doing a tricky acrobatic move or something and say "I'm getting too old for this".
