**Strange I thought I posted the below in this section yesterday. I dunno where it ended up. Trying again...

    Hey folks.
Hope all is well and all the best for 2021.

As for Kenobi, I swear on everything that is holy is this world I will swear off SW for life and sell off my entire collection if Kennedy and company drop the ball on this Kenobi series.

Flashback to before the series was officially announced, I posted here that the series had to contain a Kenobi/Vader fight because it made sense. IIRC I was ridiculed a bit (yeah you know who you are! :p).

EPIII: Kenobi left Mustafar thinking Anakin was dead
EPIV: Kenobi knew Anakin was Vader was and he was alive.
EPIV: "I need your help, Luke. She needs your help. I'm getting too old for this sort of thing". Getting or got? 2 different things. Getting implies he's done is before and it was harder than he thought.
EPIV: Vader told Tarkin about Kenobi, "A tremor in the Force. The last time I felt it was in the presence of my old master"
Anakin and Kenobi were literally side by side for 10-12 years so I doubt the tremor he was referring too was from Mustafar. He was referring to another past event.
Vader to Kenobi: You should not have come back. Literally speaking Kenobi could not have "come back" unless it was on Mustafar..
EPVI: Vader to Luke, "Obi-Wan once thought as you do". My money is on this line.

Kenobi will be on Tantoine to watch over and protect Luke until he's attacked by an inquisitor. Kenobi defeats inquisitor who says Skywalker will find him (insert the "Bucky is alive" moment). Kenobi becomes obsesses w/ hoping to turn and redeem both Anakin and himself. Feeling responsible for the fall of the Jedi and out of love for his former padawan Kenobi goes off-world to track the Sith Lord. Kenobi also knows he needs Anakin/Vader to defeat the Emperor and restore the Republic. Kenobi will try to turn Vader and fail which will lead to the "rematch of the century" as KK put it. Vader will wallop Kenobi's butt but will not finish him off and allow Kenobi to escape (and for fan service Qui Jon's ghost will appear and talk Vader from killing Kenobi "Anakin..NO!"). Kenobi will retreat to Tantoine broken, psychologically scared and will remain secluded to watch Luke from afar.

IMO this is the only storyline which makes sense. Watching Luke from afar and saving him from "the locals" for 6 episodes would be just a waste and similar to the Mandalorian story.

    Cheers, KH

Almost every Original Trilogy quote referencing the past could (and rightfully should) have been referring to the Mustafar duel in III.

I re-watched that Clone Wars arc last night (the one where Yoda defeats his evil-self.)
And it got me wondering: could the second duel between Kenobi and Vader be a vision/illusion from the Priestesses of the Force as a final test to allow Kenobi to become a Force Ghost? Sure, my theory is far-fetched but here are five reasons that can support my thesis:
1- concept art in the sizzle reel clearly shows Kenobi and Vader on Mustafar. That would work perfectly as a “vision,” since we know Kenobi has flashbacks of his final moments on Mustafar with his “brother.” It would be too fan-service-y for both to duel at Mustafar (or would it?)
2- Regarding Qui Gonn, we know from makingstarwars.net that Obi Wan Kenobi
is unable to talk to Qui Gonn Jinn until the end of the series.
What causes a big change in Kenobi’s abilities? A vision/illusion may be a convenient answer.
3- the mere logic of Kenobi and Vader facing off a second time and neither are badly injured. Again, if this was a vision it would make sense. And it does not step on Episode III’s toes thematically in their epic confrontation.
4- we know that Kenobi goes off planet for an extended period of time. While much of this is
due to Kenobi saving Princess Leia from the Inquisitors, again, credit to making star wars dot net,
it makes me wonder if Kenobi seeks the same planet the Priestesses were on? I heard the Volume was used extensively in this show.
    5-
Yoda might reappear, again from bespin bulletin and making star wars.net
why include this character in the show if he’s not going to be giving Obi Wan Kenobi insight on how to become a Force Ghost?

Much of my theory is based on makingstarwars.net’s leaks, which I believe to be totally true. Coupled with this and the fact that Ewan McGregor is involved in the story (is he producing the show?) I hope my theory is correct.

I mostly watch YouTube and stream. Anywho, the Star Wars fan made reimagined duel is awesome! Hopefully, we’ll get an updated duel ala TPM style if you guys get my drift….

ANH is my favorite film of the franchise. I would like to see a duel of this magnitude. Vader isn’t comfortable in his suit yet so don’t know if he would have the moves displayed in this fan made film, but I’m looking forward to that retcon first meeting…
