SPECULATION Kiri Hart

All this political outrage garbage in the world, Star Wars was my escape. We don't need to drag it into Star Wars too.

 

You understand that there are politics in Star Wars right? Unless you're being sarcastic.

 

I'm not talking about in-story politics. I'm talking about real-world Star Wars conversations becoming as toxic and outrage-filled as real world political discussions.

 

Lucasfilm was apparently quietly reorganized in the last year or so:

Not all the new names on the website are new to Lucasfilm.

For example, Waugh's profile used to say until recently he was VP of the Lucasfilm Story Group and that reference has been removed.

On June 18, 2018, is also when they opened up a YouTube channel for recruiting:

My guess is that they likely work with the directors & writers for each to make sure nothing is contradicting existing material. Otherwise they're more in an advisory role than a role of any real authority and letting those directors & writers create whatever story they want to (provided their pitch gets the green light from the higher ups in Lucasfilm of course).

 

No! This can only be the results of my year long YouTube and Twitter campaign complaining about her! VICTORY IS MINE!!!!

 

This looks like damage control after being nuked from the Lucasfilm website and senior leadership position down to a 'consultant' working for a different company (that also coincidentally houses Phil Lord & Chris Miller and many Warner Bros. people).

Hart's contract renewal may have had the same timing as Kennedy's, with Kennedy's renewed and Hart's not. So she got a job elsewhere.

 

You may have missed the part in my post where I stated that she took a role at another company. It never ceases to amaze me how people steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the obvious.

She has committed no crimes that I am aware of. She did, however, do a terrible job as story group lead so this is wonderful news for Star Wars fans.​

Whuh huh? "Doesn't sound like she was fired or demoted"? You have got to be kidding.

She went from Senior VP to part time consultant (and even that is doubtlessly a throwaway line where she won't actually be giving any input). She was called the Kevin Feige of Star Wars and seen by many as Kathleen Kennedy's heir apparent and now no longer even exists at LFL. That's the textbook definition of being fired. And if you think she's making more money as a "creative consultant" at a startup company designed to help writers break into TV than she was making as a Senior VP at Lucasfilm, you're just kidding yourself.

First you told us this was nothing more than a broken link on a webpage. Now you're trying to spin it into some major upward corporate move. It is ridiculously obvious that she was fired in all but name, and was no doubt given a hefty severance package in exchange for all sorts of non-disclosure agreements.

This is wonderful, wonderful news for Star Wars fans.

Why do you call it a conspiracy theory? It is pretty interesting that 3 people who were all fired by LFL are all now working together at a new venture.

Hey I wish them all the luck in the world. She can no longer continue to damage Star Wars so I don't care in the slightest what she has moved on to. (She will be doing about as much "consulting" at LFL as I will so please don't be fooled by that throwaway line)

 

I am not being confrontational just this is legit the first time I have heard this level of grievance against someone I barely have any knowledge of? So what is her major flaw in her time at Lucasfilm?

Did a quick Youtube search of Kiri Hart to get some perspective. Watched a couple of interviews. I was startled with my findings not because of anything she did or said but the mob that seems to have also Youtubed Kiri Hart but with a lot more malicious intent. Those people seem to downvote every video she has done and leave a comment very similar to this one on every video.

"These EDITED right there ladies and gentleman... Will be responsible if any of the awesome characters and stories we know ( Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, Jacen, Jaina, Thrawn, Yuuzhan Vong etc. ) are left out of the upcoming movies."

If her big "mistake" was being involved with dusting the EU then I have no problem with Kiri Hart. If there is something else that I am unaware of I am very open to hearing it.

 

What makes you think it was of her own accord? People don't shift from Senior VP at a leading Movie Studio to Part-Time Creative Advisor at another much smaller company of their own accord. It just doesn't happen.

I don't know if you follow football but here's an analogy: It would be like she went from Offensive Coordinator of the New England Patriots to ball girl in Cleveland. It's just not a move someone would make voluntarily.

 

You have no idea what her motivations are. So you simply go to what makes you happiest which is she must have been fired. I really wonder why you hate on someone so much. As I understand it the incubator is working on bringing more diversity in writing to hollywood. Maybe that is something that really appeals to Kari Hart.
