The Knights of Ren are Mandalorians. Just watched the Rebels episode preview for next week on the main SWNN page and Sabine says she is from Clan Ren of House Vizla. House Vizla as you know is the house Darth Maul took over by defeating their leader in single combat. So it's looking like Maul disappeared and rejoined his Mandalorian clan. He is going to meet Ezra sometime in the remaining season 2 and probably begin seducing him to the dark side. I think Maul is currently an apprentice of Snoke and will train Ezra and dub him a Knight of Clan Ren, maybe even the first. Here's to darkside force trained Mandalorians.

except that's Clan Wren. why would they change the name to Ren?

and as i understand it, "Wren" is a family name (Sabine Wren).

"Ren" is obviously short for "Revan". ;)

Understandable theory, @Revanite, but we got to the bottom of it rather quickly this time. :)
