It even sounds stupid. Knights of Ren LOL. Let it go. Change the TFA. NO Knights of Ren. Go back to Sith babies or something.

Help me to understand. You want the story to be rewritten because "Sith" sounds better to your ears than "Knights of Ren?"

    (Edited for grammar)

Ok lets rename the Jedi to ... hmm... Clerics of Naboo or something.mIt is just stupid. Knights Templar WOOO. Lucas got it right. New stuff. Sith = Dark Side, Jedi = Light Side.

Knights of Ren = I am a retar new director that makes remakes of all the Great Directors movies.

JJ is a copy cat, that uses modern technology, nothing more.

I even like the movie but some stuff is dumb. Snoke better be Plagius or bye bye Star Wars.

So you're just saying you don't like the name. Fair enough. I think it's pretty cool, but whatever.

But since the Sith are extinct, we'll have plenty of time to get used to the name. ;)

So, let me get this straight in me head @Xeven. You want Rian Johnson to rename the Knights of Ren to the Sith?

@Xeven - Essentially the Sith and Jedi are religious orders, which are subject to change and even extinction.

The Knights of Ren are supposedly (I say it like that since we know little about them) a group that follows the Dark Side, though for that matter I'm not sure we've even had any official notion that they are even actual Force users. Just hints that they took out Luke's academy. It could just be Kylo that has Force powers among them.

In any case, it's different flavors. Just because it's similar doesn't mean it's wholly the same, nor that people will treat it lightly. Ever heard all the wars between Catholics and Protestants, even though they were both Christians? Or Shiites and Sunnis with Islam? The Sith and KoR could be the same for the Dark Side for all we know.

OK now that's better but Sith should continue eventually. Lets not just copy Earth history. Knights are VERY earth like. Sith and Jedi are not.

It might help you understand my point of view if I explain I was 10 when Star Wars ANH came out and my dad took me and my 7 YO bro to see it.

Has huge impact on young. Sith mean something.

The Jedi are literally called Jedi Knights plenty of times in the OT alone...

"Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight."

I disagree with that. As @John Crichton said, these were religious orders. There are many, many Earthly examples for this.

Besides, resurrecting the Sith "just because" would contradict story. The Sith are gone.

If the names bother you, then perhaps look beyond the names and at the concepts. We don't know anything about the Knights of Ren yet, so there's nothing to judge. Now that TFA is out, let's see where we go from here.

    Adding to my other post.

Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi: A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights.

Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi: Yes. I was once a Jedi knight, the same as your father.

Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi: Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times... before the Empire.

Yoda: Stopped they must be; on this all depends. Only a fully trained Jedi Knight, with the Force as his ally, will conquer Vader and his Emperor.

Han Solo: A Jedi Knight? Jeez, I'm out of it for a little while, everyone gets delusions of grandeur!

Bib Fortuna: May I present Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight?

There are religious sects in Earth's history. And there were knights. And there were knightly religious orders.

    You are very literal!

This thread has nothing to do with the movie, is not "speculation", and is mostly fan fiction....locked.

Your saying JJ is a copy cat and at the same time your saying you would prefer that JJ had used sith in the story? How is it that if JJ has introduced the Knights of Ren that he is being a copy cat? Jedi are also knights. They are jedi knights so you could use your own argument against yourself when you mention templar knights. The Knights of Ren pay homage to Vader who was sith and former jedi knight, thus Knights of Ren.

There is a difference between copy cat and playing it safe while at the same time progressing and moving the story forward. Star wars is about story first. Technology is utilized to complement the story. A director doesn't need to progress technology to be a good director. A good director connects with the actors. The prequels we're a perfect example of new technology and a director having no connection with the actors,
