?

Was the KoR scene a flashback or vision of events to occur in VIII?

So, this has really been bugging me for a while, with the leak
That Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren will fight both Rey and Luke on Ach-To
and that one scene in the flashback with Kylo stabbing what appears to be one of the Knights, is this Rey having a Force-inspired flashback or is she getting a glimpse into what is about to happen in the future?

Personally, I am leaning towards this being a vision of what is going to happen in 8, what about you guys?

Personally I was always positive it was a glimpse of the future but I'm not too sure now. I remember Pablo Hidalgo tweeted that the person getting stabbed was a "clan leader." That doesn't sound like a padawan to me. I'm starting to believe the Knights of Ren also staged an attack on Rey's village around the same time and that's where that part of the vision is from

I think it is a vision of the future and I saw a practice at Malin Head which may fit to this scene (but due to distance I cannot say it at 100%).

I also think the KoR scene is a vision of the future.
A lot of thinks support this theory: set leaks (the location fits and there were rumors about a rain machine), description of Luke/Rey vs Kylo Ren/KoR etc.

But on the other hand there are some details which doesn't make much sense to me:
Why is Kylo Ren stabbing this "clan leader" (are there more people on Ach-To)?
What corpses are surrounding the KoR?
Kylo Ren is wearing his mask. (Either he has another one or this scene is in the past after all.)

Wearing the mask in the "Force Back" though means nothing. He could be wearing it in the vision, but outside the vision, he could have it off. Visions aren't always literal.

I have 2 ideas and one is that they maybe filmed an extension or new version of the vision scene. The other one is that maybe the clan leader is someone else or will be replaced by someone else who is stabbed in VIII. ;)

Regarding rain, yes, they brought rain tanks to Malin Head, but they had luck with the weather at one day at Ceann Sibeal when it rained and they could use the general weather conditions (I was sadly at a different set during that day ).

i'm inclined to believe this is future vision as well (though lately i've been wavering a bit).
either way i don't think it has anything to do with the alleged Luke/Rey/KOR scene.

and like @Boushhdisguise said, the physical details aren't too concerning.
when Rey sees Ren on Starkiller in the snow in her Forceback, he's also wearing the helmet even though he's lost it by then.

    It's for me either:

A flash back of this clan, which involves one or both of Rey's parents, being cut down by the KoR but with one of her parents being spared by Kylo.

    OR

A vision of the future where Ren chops down one of his own KoR who was about to kill Rey and who Ren wants alive...

    I believe it's a future vision.

This is concept design for the Knights of Ren:

The highlighted person above uses a similar helmet + weapon to the man killed by Kylo.

Also, the actor stabbed by Kylo is listed as a Knight of Ren in the end credits:

I think it's a vision of the past which is why it's called a Force-BACK.

If that's the case, which it seems to be, maybe Kylo kills the KOR for whatever reason which is why they're not there in TFA D.

Snoke says to Kylo 'you are the master of the KoR', which suggests some Ren's should still be alive. I also doubt all the fight/fx filmed in Ireland was just for a forceback scene. ;)

How and when Ben Solo became the Master of the Knights of Ren is probably going to be a pivotal moment in his history and turn to the dark side.

A vision of the past when Ren got his hands on Luke's saber before Maz steals in back.

I'm going with a vision of the past. I don't think that the Malin Head scene is the same. In that scene
Luke supposedly takes down the Knights of Ren

That along with all the bodies lying around the Knigjts of Ren in the vision just doesn't add up.

But then that qouldnt explain why they were supposedly on the set of VIII on Ach-To.

In the original TFA leaks it was stated that:

    - The lightsaber falls from space and lands on a planet.
    - A peasant alien guy finds it and sets fire to his house but he keeps it and then sells it to a rich man.
    - This rich man is the leader of a clan who have had battles with the KoR
    - The KoR attack the clan and Kylo Ren kills them all and takes the saber
    - The KoR are having a campfire and Maz sneaks in and steals the saber

That's what MSW originally said would happen in the flashback. It's all we have for now.

p.s. It was also said that Rey's parents were in the clan I believe.

It was said 'Kylo Ren approaches Rey'. This doesn't mean that she is/was part of the CLAN, it could still have been the vision view we have in TFA now, when Rey stands in front of Kylo Ren + KoR. ;)
