Plot point wise, I would suggest you at least think about playing both endings regardless of your character's gender. For the most part, I prefer the Light Side ending but have been tempted to go the Dark Side. As for why, that is for you to figure through the game.

Just my opinion, but look up the companions and how to get them. Some are possible to miss.

I know the OP has already finished by now, but another tip for would-be KOTOR players is not to level up your main character too much before becoming a Jedi. I usually try to do it not-at-all, which makes the early stages of the game quite a bit tougher.

I bought the original XBOX just to play KOTOR, and I was so glad I did. I hope Amy Hennig and Visceral games can live up to KOTOR's standards, since there is no word of an official re-mastering or re-boot. I like Battlefront but we need a good solid game like that of KOTOR. Its the only game besides Uncharted that I can remember that I played several times, light and dark side path. I only played light side with Force Unleashed.

Yeah, I've probably played through it all the way about 10 times or so over the years, plus a BUNCH of half-finished games. I'll get the bug to play and lose it about halfway through. I do the same with Elder Scrolls games. On KOTOR I usually only play the llight side though, think I only did dark side once. I've never been hyped up that much for a game (this was not helped by the release delays) and then been blown away by it, although I've been that hyped and then disappointed. KOTOR was worth the wait though. Although I was a little puzzled by the fact GameStop gave me a Scout Trooper action figure with my game (part of the pre-order deal I guess), when I was pretty certain that Scout Troopers didn't factor into this game at all. But it was nice I guess, they figure you're a Star Wars fan so here's a Star Wars figure. Although I no longer collected action figures by that point.

As for Force Unleashed, if I recall you don't have to do a full playthrough to see the dark side ending, you can just load up the last level.

Yeah it's good. A lot of people say it was better than the first but I'm not one of them. It made some improvements but in the end may have been a little too ambitious and they had to rush it out not quite finished and with a lot of bugs. No spoilers, but if it weren't for the terrible ending I might consider it better than the first. I'd probably still like the story of the first game more but I'd likely consider 2 as the superior game.

KOTOR 2 (The Sith Lords) was great.

it was rushed unfortunately, and some things that were planned never made it in there. There are characters in there like Nihilus that.. quite frankly are superb, and i'd love to see a similar character in a live action film at some point.

There are also a lot of 'little' additions to the gameplay, which.. not big and just common sense, but if you go back to the original Kotor after playing 2 you really notice and miss.

The twist in kotor 1 is the best thing i've ever experienced in a video game... character with limited memory of their past, getting force visions, picks up the force extremely quickly and begins to realize he/she is very powerful. sound familiar? lol, it does to me!

a couple of months ago our garage was broken into, and among the rubbish that was stolen was a box of dvd box sets that i wanted to keep but didn't want in the house... realized a few weeks ago that both my pc & xbox versions of kotor were in there. worthless really, but still...:(
