SPECULATION Kylo Ren and Vader's Castle in Episode IX?

    SPOILERS FOR EPISODE VIII- THE LAST JEDI


    So by the end of The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren has overthrown Snoke and is now Supreme Leader of the First Order, which is heavily implied to be militarily taking control all over, essentially making Kylo the most powerful being in the galaxy.
    He's officially achieved something not even Vader did- take the throne and become Emperor.
    But on the topic of Vader, as we know from its establishment in Rogue One, Vader's Castle is on Mustafar, and was symbolically his grandfather's homeworld for all intents. We also know that there is a Sith tomb under the castle itself that Vader used for meditation and study.

    Is it possible we could see Kylo make Mustafar the First Order capital world, or his own personal headquarters within his grandfather's fortress?
    Mustafar has an important legacy within the Star Wars lore, and Kylo is all about his legacy.
    On just a real world filmmaking level, it would make for a visually striking environment for the last film in the trilogy, different to any we've had so far in the Sequel Trilogy.

    Seriously though, thinking about kylo on Mistafar also makes me think of how lonely and purposeless he might feel as Supreme Leader or Emperor. He seemed to thrive on the conflict that came with his ascendancy. What now? Just hunt the girl?

    I like the idea of the final battle between Kylo and Rey being on Mustafar as a parallel.
    In Episode III, we saw a Skywalker fall there and become a monster.
    Decades later in Episode IX, the last Skywalker is saved from being one there.

    Nah. I think Kylo's over his obsession with Vader, and emulating him. This is symbolized in TLJ with him smashing his own helmet.

    Man, I would love this. But given Kylo's stance towards the past by the end of TLJ, it probably wouldn't make much sense.

    I believe we'll see Vader's castle in episode 9. When I saw it in Rogue One I thought that they introduced it specifically to make use of it with greater impact in one of the main movies. Chances are it was designed for the main trilogy. And now that Kylo gets to choose where he lives, I'm sure it will make an appearance in episode 9. I'd be willing to bet that he'll have some epiphany on Mustafar, paralleling Anakin in ROTS. Except this time, Mustafar will be a place of salvation.

    I think it would be really fun to see it again and could play nicely into the story. I think having it be his headquarters or home seems a little too much, but seeing him visit it would really cool or have Rey visit it trying to find a way to connect to him might be equally interesting.

    I'd love for him to visit the place where his grandfather turned into Darth Vader, but not because out of some adoration for him.
    I too think that he no longer wants to emulate him.
    He is his own person now and that is making him fundamentally different from his grandfather.
    Vader was NEVER in that position.

    Kylo Ren may be not as strong as his grandfather (yet), but by proving that he still has a mind of his own he actually turns out to be better.

    (If that makes cooler than Vader, I would say.... No , not yet.):p

    Maybe if the Rebellion has the First Order on the run, that could be where they have their "last stand?" It would be cool having Kylo literally being forced to face his past and heritage.

    I'd like to at least visit there in episode 9, even if we don't spend a lot of time there. It would be interesting to see Kylo's taste in decorating. What do you think: 'mid-century modern' or is he more of a 'North Woods' decor type?

    I want to see it again. Just make sure to give Ben a good reason to go there. Have him retrieve something he needs. Maybe have a hero go there and a showdown happens there. I don't want it to happen for nothing, but I want to see it again.

    I don't really want him to just be living there at the start of the movie. If he goes there, it should be to get some sort of Vader related artifact or information. Or perhaps there's a reason Vader was living there in the first place. Maybe like the force cave on Dagobah or the mirror on Ach-to, there is a well of dark side power that the castle was built on...Literally any plot related reason to go there would suffice. But if it's not relevant to the story, I don't need to see it.

    Yea I'd like to see him at least pay a visit there. I love that castle and how it was constructed right over a lava fall. There must be some purpose in that right?
