Kylo Ren - Masked or un-masked for Ep.8?

i really like his look.. maybe he'll keep the mask and modify his "dress" (undercover boss: starkiller base edition). perhaps by the end of his training, he'll have a sith title, new saber and a new look?? who knows!

 

Mask is part of Kylo Ren character, so he will wear it till the end. When someone force him to unmask. Maybe an attack from his former master.

 

All I can say is, I sure hope they don't change his look after how much I spent on this Hot Toys Kylo Ren sixth scale figure!

 

Don't worry Rey only give him a few scratches.

I don't think he should. Beside his mask was lost at the end of the movie after he killed Han. I believe he left it on the bridge when he went after Finn and Rey.

 

I dont know about A mask,But I definitely think Kylo will have somesort of cybernetics on his face.Maybe something Ala Darth Malak

 

All the rumors point to him being unmasked moving forwards. Where are all these rumors? I have no idea, lol

 

We demand a scene similar to Anakin's having his nightmares without a shirt. (He had two of those! One in II and one in III). And Luke had a diaper bacta tank one, which granted, was sort of the opposite of what we want for Kylo visually, but still, young Skywalker semi-nakedness is an important and most necessary thing as proven by precedent...


But more seriously.
I hope that Kylo will be more without the mask going forward.
At the same time, the mask is also symbolic for the character. It sort of delineates the two personalities he has - that of Ben Solo and that of Kylo Ren.
I think there is a possibility that he will wear a mask, probably for the first part of 8, so that they postpone the reveal of the scar, but from then on he will go maskless...
I also hope (for Adam's sake as well) that they make his outer robes shorter and polish his overall look a bit...

 

I'd prefer if he wore the mask during battle and take it off when ever he needed to talk to Snoke.

i agree it's a bit of a strange silhouette and kinda unwieldy (and apparently no joy to wear), but it's kind of stunning in motion once they get to fighting.

 

O, I like it, but Adam doesn't. He said he kept tripping on it all the time between takes or even during...) Also his movements will be more refined if the robes are shorter.
Also, Kylo's look has to evolve.
I think the end game for Kylo's look (for IX) is to become something close to Anakin's look from ROTS but instead of black and dark brown, it will be black and grey...(Or at least in my head it is...)

This one is almost similar to the one he has now, but is more clean-cut and "polished"...I imagine the outer "skirt" to be slightly below the knees.

 

yeah i gotta admit, i think part of why he walks so funny is because he's literally kicking the surcoat so he won't trip on it. this strikes me especially when he's walking on the bridge with Hux and you can see the duckish way his points his feet.

so yeah, i guess shortening that layer wouldn't hurt.

i keep looking at Revan's costume and trying to see if there is some compromise, but that's got long skirts on it too:



i don't want to see him in something as short as Anakin, nor with a full robe/cape. and if they change those sleeves, i will be very annoyed ~ hahaha

 

Maybe something like this (as in another concept art), but less scruffy-looking?
I like the sleeves he has now too.

 

yeah, i've always liked that picture. it's definitely more raggedy, i think, but i actually don't mind the wraithy look.
and the more wraithy he is the less he fits with the First Order's sleek clean lines (and i'm all for that ~ hahaha).

 

Lets see ... arguments FOR the mask:

- Grandfather had one (admittedly for cardiopulmonary rather than sith-chique aestheque reasons)
- Voice changes scarier
- Face scarier
- Less chaffy skin
- More $$$ for Kylo MASKED and UNMASKED figures

Factors against
- Old mask last seen falling into exploding chasm on secret superweapon planet .. looked kinda dented, so assuming no backup mask around
- Adam Driver reportedly hated that darn mask
- No one will see that handsome scar
- Helmet hair (admittedly, not a huge issue in Force users named Kylo)

I think the maybe boths? will have it - mask on and OFF for opportune tear jerking and fangirling moments.

 

I believe that he will be masked up for at least the time with the Knights of Ren.

Yeah, me too. Although masked one wins by a point or two more. Still, I believe he CAN be intimidating if Driver plays it perfectly. He did shined in that dark way in a few scenes even without a mask.

The only scene I remember that it really didn't worked is the one where he addresses Snoke with a line "She's stronger with the force, more than she knows" because his big nose was somehow distracting (blaming on the position of the camera), he delivered it without anger and then Hux came just in time to make an additional insult to injury. I bet Kylo will somehow return the favor for it in EpVIII.

 

Agreed.

In my last view, me and a friend noticed that.
I think it will be a different one. (with this they have the opportunity to play with us again, with other Ren Knights)

By the way, probably it will be related with his level training.
In TFA his training is not complete, he is immature, unexperienced and he takes off the mask 3 or 4 times.
In EVIII i think he will be unmasked 1 or 2 times. But If the training is complete he will appear with the mask all the time, to take it off one last time in EIX..

 

I like his mask, though I'm not sure he has it anymore. And I'd like to see others. I remember he was described as a collector of artifacts. It would be cool to see him wear more than one. I know it could be confusing for the audience, but, it would also make room for an imposter and a good twist.

I'd also like to see more knights of Ren. Basically, I'm a big fan of the bad guys, it's a cool look.
