Kylo Ren's Original Lightsaber Color?

I think I might have heard somewhere hat Kylo's first LIGHTSABER was Lukr Skywalker's old one .

 

Everything leads to the lightsaber TFA. he wanted it and I think it provides him so much power.

 

I'm quite certain that the one in TFA is the first lightsaber he ever built.
Given that Ben was already being seduced to the Darkside before Leia sent him to Luke, I'm not entirely sure Luke wanted to put a lightsaber in Ben's hands.
It's possible that the red lightsaber is his first.

 

Well he likes to be like Darth Vader, so the obvious choice would be blue....if Luke would allow him. Perhaps he was too young to have a lightsaber. That's a possibility?

 

Bring on the synthetic crystals! They can be any color right? Luke's green is synthetic like the sith red so I'd say orange! We know nothing of Luke's new teaching ethics.

He might have owned the Skywalker lightsaber for some time in his past. We still don't know how it ended up at Maz's.

 

Emo Ben shows up for his first day at the academy with a Cure teeshirt and his cracked red lightsaber. "Hey Uncle, I went ahead and made my own lightsaber. It talks to me when I get lonely at night, along with Grandfather's helmet. Oh and my name isn't Ben anymore. It is Kylo. Get it? I dropped the "S" from Skywalker and "So" from Solo because that is how I roll".

 

I get the feeling that he thinks he's entitled to that lightsaber because of his bloodline, being the grandson of a Grandpa Vader and all.

 

Aaah. That makes sense! I thought it was a General Grievous thing... He already faced Luke and defeated him.

 

I think its safe to assume that we are back to old Star Wars and lightsabers are constructed by Jedi as a right of passage at the end of their training.
So he either had Luke's to train with or none at all I'd wager.
If he had Luke's the story of how it came to Maz becomes a lot more interesting.

 

I'm gonna have to go with blue as well, since Luke probably wielded the green one at the time & Leia never constructed one that's my belief.

 

I agree. It is a common understanding of his words. But there's still a lot of possibilities of the lightsaber's journey. Kylo recognizes it at first sight, which means that he has seen (or used or read a wookieepedia article about) the lightsaber before or he senses with the force that it's the Skywalker lightsaber. There's a lot to speculate about, that's what I really love about this movie.

 

I don't think any of Luke's apprentices had actual lightsabers. Particularly because of the flashback scene. That's why I think when Kylo Ren came back to destroy the temple he dominated everyone so easily. I think he was the only with lightsaber. Also, Kylo had to go all the way to desolate Malachor to get a kyber crystal which was CRACKED. Why would he not use one that is polished and in good condition? I believe they are a rarity.

 

wasn't there an excerpt from the visual dictionary saying something about how good Kylo Ren is with a lightsaber, and how that has played into why they aren't used anymore (in other words, he killed all the other lightsaber practitioners)? that blurb says to me that other students had lightsabers, it's just that Kylo Ren was better with one.

as for color, i went with blue. i like the idea that he used to own Anakin's saber, like maybe we was originally handed down Excalibur but then he chose a different path...

 

I think the answer is here in this clip....Look at 2:42-3:00....He was a apprentice and it can be ANY color....

It was probably blue, and I would also like to add that it was a damn shame he didn't have a normal red lightsaber instead of that flaming KKK cross sword.

 

I'd like to see his old one be a green saber as they sound and look more majestic .
