So, we already know that Kylo Ren has an up hill battle to prove his worthiness to Snoke after being defeated by a 'Scavenger'. :) .. He's also, like Vader, constantly questioned about his personal feelings and where his loyalties lie.. These facts lead to the possibilty that Kylo Ren perhaps is not the sole force user in the Knights of Ren.. I found it amusing to play with the idea that Kylo in fact has the Knights of Ren questioning his loyalties and dark side strength as well where there could even be another in the KOR that plans to betray him and take over as Snoke's sole apprentice.

Rey is also a candidate of this of course, but It's safe to say she won't be turning to the Dark Side....I hope. I just think it would be a fresh take on Dark Side force users and how the rule of two came to be..simply because the dark side users are constantly betraying each other and the rule of two consolidates this facet and also makes it a bit of an honer? to the the master whom has trained such an evil apprentice whom desires power over friends or family.

I think this would also be a great side story that strays far from the OT and PT plot and creates a freshness to these sequels as so far we have had a pretty linear doppelganger of the OT. What do y'all think? Too busy or could they fit this dynamic in as well?

I like it. It makes sense that Kylo would be challenged by those within his ranks. The dark side force users yearn for power and are not afraid to achieve that power through any means necessary, especially by betraying their masters/superiors. I think that could easily fit into the plot as it could be something as small as a subversive act or remark, which would still create that unique dynamic you mentioned. And then the LSG could explore the issue further in books & comics.

My thoughts exactly. The idea intrigues me and could become one of the cooler scenes in the sequels having Ben fight another dark side apprentice and the divided Knights of Ren... The KoR being well aware of the Skywalker story could be why they turn on Ben.. General Hux could even be provoking all of this to force Ben out of his position.

Kylo was mortally wounded and also not trying to actually defeat said scavenger.

Similar to Vader vs Luke in ESB. Luke makes it look way more competitive than it should be because Vader isn't in it for the kill. He wants to subdue and convert. Same with Kylo.

Though a bit of subject, this is true. Kylo was certainly holding back.

I think it completely changes the subject. Why would people question him if he was dying from a bowcaster shot and still dispatched of Finn first...

Chances are 100% of those questioning him would have already been long dead.

I meant more that Kylo Ren having personal ties with the resistance and Jedi and battling being pulled towards the light make it easy to question where his loyalties lie. Thus Snoke and the KoR always on the verge of replacing him..

I dont think someone needs to know all the details to think Kylo is weak.

    1) Hux hardly seems to like Kylo so I am sure he will be spinning tales. Nor do I think he is going to hide Kylo was beat up and needed a Bacta Tank. Kylo is also not going to be blaming it on Luke since spoilers tell us they are still hunting for Luke. And well I think anyone less then Luke beating him is going to make him look weak. Whether or not other Knights of Ren or Ranking members heard about some untrained scavenger girl with the Force.

    2) Kylo was just on Starkiller Base when a ragtag group of Rebels destroyed it. Hux and Kylo were the highest ranking members around that is not going to make anyone think either one is particularly strong.

If that were the case, why would Snoke keep training him?
Wasn't that what killing his father was for? Removing doubt of where his loyalties lie?

    @Niamor

You sure you posted that to the right thread?

I am not seeing what that has to do with the topic.

Kylo's is weak but his weakness is of character. It makes him dangerous and unpredictable. Certainly it is exploitable but his power amps up the more unstable he becomes. As his resentment shifts from his own shortcomings to the fact that Snoke's training have left him with regret and not much else his resentment will shift. When it shifts outward look out.

He is the BBEG Snoke is his future backstory. An important rung on his climb to the top.

As in beware you meddle in the affairs of the Dragon?

That is apt. But he will also wield an army of storm troopers, a fleet of space ships and a bunch of Knights.

I would suggest he is a tempest. Wild, and unnerving but when focused blasts lightning.

Nah the Dragon is a trope name for a second in command that really wants to knock off his boss to take command.

We don't have much by way of motivations yet. I wonder where their ultimate allegiance lies?

    Primary interests:
    Hux: First Order?
    Kylo: Himself? Vader? Legacy? Prophecy?
Snoke: Unknown. (Master/mentor to Ben, scared of Luke Skywalker.)

Sure it was! That doesn't mean Dark Force users aren't always out to get one another. That's what part of being on the dark side is. Everyone wants to be the most powerful.

I'd just like to see more turmoil within the dark side users, similar to pirates always murdering each other in films or back stabbing. I think this would be an interesting dynamic with the Knights of Ren. Everyone wants to be at the top and their loyalties waiver.
