SPECULATION Lack of spoilers..

I have a feeling that they will surprise us even more with details not included so far in the trailers and teasers.

 

I think it's hilarious that the only major spoiler came from a cast member.

 

I have been lurking all over the internet for spoilers. I was lead to believe there may be an unexpected plot twist but maybe there is not. They steal the death star plans and get them to the rebels. The end. I will lurk on....

 

I was just talking about this last night with my wife. Nothing has really dropped.

I am of the opinion that they really did a good job of weeding out the leaks with how they played the releases leading up to TFA. Evidently they caught quite a few of them.

 

I think that Disney secretly was happy with the leaks for TFA so they could gauge interest and get free pr and everything but R1 is even more sensitive to have that because it's a "first"

Lack of spoilers? Great, and I hope ep. VIII will work in the same way.

 

TFA awakens was the first Star Wars movie in a while so of course everyone wanted to have and get info and there were a ton of people that wanted to be "heros" by leaking what they could.

This movie we know whats gonna happen, we are just unaware of the how it is gonna occur.
So I think that takes some of the urgency to have the leaks. We had no clue what to expect with TFA.

 

I know some didn't (still don't) like Jason Ward but I tend to only believe a spoiler if it's straight from him.

 

Im ok with no spoilers. I will be honest. I have no will power. While I love the spoilers, I think in many ways it kinda runs the movie when you know what is going to happen. Spoilers were not available during the OT like they are now. You just became excited when that first trailer came on TV and begged your parents to take ya and it was all a surprise! I like spoilers.. but Im fine without them too. Adds them a little more excitement.

 

The reason why I appreciated the spoilers for TFA was because they allowed me to know in advance that Luke played a sparing role in the film. Had I not this and gone into the movie blind -- no Luke, no green lightsaber, no Jedi Academy -- I would have been disappointed. Instead, I was able to manage expectations and enjoy the film.

I just wish I knew whether Vader would get to ignite his crimson lightsaber and confront the rebels. I am forcing myself to assume that he doesn't with the mindset that if he does, it will be a bonus.
