    Me too. Glover probably gives a great portrait and can't wait for Solo but at this time i prefer a Kenobi movie. Seems more interesting exploring Kenobi's life.

    What...? Seriously? I hope the quote got distorted. Even though I haven't seen Solo yet, I just can't imagine myself being excited for a Lando spin-off. If true, this makes me feel like they have no plan. "Glover did a good job? Sure, give him a movie, why not." So unimaginative.

    Also, they are always so careful with announcements and now she just... reveals it in a red carpet interview or whatever? Something doesn't add up here.

    Exactly... Standalones centered on known characters always seem so unappealing... The concept of Solo took a lot of getting used to. And that's Han Solo, one of the coolest characters in Star Wars! Even Obi-Wan is a stretch - I want to see it just because seeing Ewan as Kenobi is a treat. To be frank, though, I don't think there's much of a story there.

    They already made Ewan older for ROTS. They can do it again. Furthermore Ewan looks always the same. He doesn't age. Haha!

    So, waiting for official Kenobi news. Ewan really deserves it. I supouse they are making a big timeline canon surrounding Empire/Rebellion/Skywalker (and that's good, and I like it) but after the third one I hope they will explore different ages with the new upcoming films.

    I'd rather see the movie first before making this kind of judgement. It doesn't matter to me whether a stand alone is centered on a known character or not, as long as the story proved to be good. I don't mind a stand alone film about Han. And I certainly wouldn't mind a stand alone about Obi-Wan. And as for whether there is much of a story in a film about Obi-Wan . . . again, I believe this is basically an assumption I would feel uncomfortable about making.

    I'm with you. Although I'm excited about the new film now, I wasn't when it was first announced. Honestly I didn't get excited until Ron Howard took over (or at least warm up to the idea). Now that we are on the edge of release I'd like to think there are other stories to tell. Guardians of the Whills? Jedi from before the Empire took over? Bounty Hunters we've not seen yet?

    I'd love an Obi Wan film, as he is easily one of my favorite characters, but I feel like that would be too easy.
