Solo film introduces hint of erotic and even romantic relationship of a droid and major character. Lawrence Kashdan confirmed Lando Calrissian is pansexual.
I think it was made well with curriage since love between man and machine is reality, and its beautiful refocusing of Star Wars.

Gimme a break. It is nonsense like this which is leading to the ever-decreasing box office numbers. People don't want SJW nonsense from Star Wars films, and the box office proves it.

"Boy I sure hope Disney completely refocuses the Star Wars franchise!" said no person ever in 2013

Was there any actual "love" between the two? Because I took that bit as nothing more than a weird joke.

L3 loves Lando there is no
    doubt in her tone.
Is she just fanthasizing how it would work between her and Lando or is she telling the truth to Kira that "it works" is a question. But,do droids make up things like that?

I think L3 is imagining the whole "love" thing a bit. I believe that they were close (just look at how Lando was holding her corpse after she died) but not "love" close. Maybe "friends with benefits" teritory but not actual love.

I have no idea what exactly she meant, does she really "love" him and it looks a like more of a joke than anything. The whole scene could very well be a L&M leftover.
Although, I do see how this could trigger the rage of the OT fundamentalists.

"Friends with benefits" sounds even worse than "they are in love". Now that's the image I'll have trouble getting out of my head :p

The only thing L3 confirms is that a relationship between a droid and a human 'could work'. It was funny that she thought that Lando is getting too attached. In both Last Shot and this movie, they are depicted as equals and, as much as L3 is up in arms about droid rights, I don't think she really experienced it often. Kudos to Lando.

It's funny to me is how much pearl clutching is out there about this. For me, it was funny moment that only underlined that we are in a GFFA. Weird things are normal.

The most overstated thing ever. It is pretty much the cave, the only thing in there is what you take with you. The room is there for anything from master and droid to friends to captain and co-pilot to star crossed couple.

Who in the world cares about the exact nature of the relationship anyway, why is it important?

    People are so weird!

Because to some people the OT is like a sacred religious text and suggesting that Lando Calrissian bangs droids is sacrilege. Even if Lando's sexual preference isn't mention in any canon material.

On serious note though, I don't think SW has establish it's droids in a way, that is suitable to explore the possible human-ai romance. It should be done with more "serious" movies, like: Blade Runner 2049, Bicentennial Man, Ex Machina (and some other stuff I haven't seen).

Taking a page from the JK Rowling book. Dropping something controversial about a character in an interview rather than exploring it in a story. All of this stuff is easy to fling around and toot your own horn. They know the jarjar would hit the fan if they ever actually did it but hey Solo is looking like a disappointment anyway so maybe they should have played that card.

That was my interpretation too. I thought L3's statement that Lando was in love with her was more meant to be a joke where we, the audience, see her as being a bit self-delusional. And while Lando was genuinely moved by her "death," it wasn't all that different from what I would imagine seeing from Luke or Leia if, say, R2-D2 or C3PO had been killed. If Kasdan (I forget which one) hadn't made the silly statement of last week, this wouldn't have even been an issue worth discussing.

I care two shits either way.

Lando has always been the Pimp in Space.

Sleeps with Droids? Woopty doo. Droids are people in Star Wars films; you can torture them, enslave them, and they have feelings.

Lando's a smooth talking pimp who loves to love, and droids are people....so....sure, go for it man if you want to.

Conversely, if it's just a delusion of L3's; cool. To me, that would just mean that Lando hadn't slept with L3 yet. Not that he wouldn't ever.

But, whatever. People are that way, at least in America - sensitive to sex. *shrug* Whatever.

Now, I kind of hope Lando did sleep with L3 just because it's unapologetic.

So this is an issue because of Kasdan's comments?

I just though Lando saw the droid as his only friend. The L3 had other idea's.

It's ridiculous that people have a complaint against this, people are willing to find anything to bash liberals/SJWs with.

Meanwhile in the Star Wars fandom:

This is a ridiculous thread. Wow, a smooth-talking charmer that oozes culture and has impeccable taste in fashion is less than vanilla in his love life. Interspecies relationships are already part of Star Wars lore, and it's a sci-fi trope going back like close to a century. Eddie Murphy was boasting about Captain Kirk banging green aliens back in the 1970s, and the whole L3-Lando angle wasn't even about sexuality but had a very tasteful approach of real love. It was very interesting to explore the status of droids in SW lore, since it was first introduced in 1977 with "We don't serve their kind here".

It doesn't change that he loves the ladies (as established in the OT) or mess with his OT canon so I don't care. Why is everyone so obsessed about Lando's browser history anyway?

Using Pansexuality to bypass Bisexuality is insulting for me personally. And this certainly isn't a proper display of what pan- is, if anything it is a joke.
Already we have straight people thinking they know everything about what they never ask.

I have nothing against (insert any name)sexuals in SW. Sinjir Rathvelis (sorry bout spelling) is a dynamic, interesting and new character in the novels.

    Just stop changing ESTABLISHED characters.
