Landspeeder in Dubrovniku Discussion

Is this Luke's? Perhaps he bought one when he visited there?

 

Unlikely to be Luke's speeder, they left that one unattended in Mos Eisley. I doubt that it would still have been there when Luke finally went back. I actually would be disappointed with the level of scum and villainy if it would have been there.

 

More than likely, this is simple street prop they are just covering up so no one could get pictures. It will probably be something in an establishing shot of the scenery or something the cast will walk by.

 

I like how they've got it running on a track. Even if there are no key actors inside, that's pretty amazing that they've gone to such lengths.

 

Probably just an updated model .

 

These aren't the speeders you're looking for.... oh wait wrong line. ha! on topic.. Looks like the same speeder Luke had but also different colors of course but different top engine?

 

Even Luke's speeder was outdated in ANH.

pay attention to the tracks, they are curved up at one point, maybe it goes angled, flips, ?

 

This track is not likely for the speeder, it is most likely used for the camera. I suspect a chase scene and the speeder is used as background. I also suspect this chase may be on foot. Hard to say for sure though. This to me looks like the track laid down for camera work. Clearly the rumors of a chase scene are most likely true. This is probably in the background of either a resistance home planet and a spy running away or some chase scene on Snoke's home base?

 

Mmm I recall he sold his landspeeder in Mos Eisley - I even remember him whining about the credits he got for it.

 

Guys - in 2017 we're going to see Luke Skywalker return and be in a chase scene of some description.

Dont think they have curved tracks for the dolly. It will fall off the track.

I hadn't seen this pic before. Its possible that the camera is setting in front of the speeder then? I would think the camera would have to be eye level to the speeder to avoid revealing the tracks as it passed. Probably could remove in post, but seems like a lot of work. Would be easier to just lower the camera. Or a stationary camera and the speeder passes in the shot. Again have to avoid the tracks in the shot. which is why I thought it might be for a dolly. However, you bring up a valid point for the curved tracks.
