This is a thread for any movie you have seen lately on; T.V., Theater, DVD, Netflix, etc and give a mini-review and your rating of it.

Last night I watched the movie Split. I thought it was good and it has a few reveals, but not like M. Night's older movies. But if you don't pay attention one thing may fly over your head and have you scratching your head at the end. I won't spoil anything because you need to watch until the credits for one other specific thing.

I thought James McaVoy was excellent as a man who has 23 different personalities. He kidnaps three girls and holds them hostage and each personality talks about the main one who comes out and has the real control. I'd give it a B+

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.

Not as good as the first one, but I feel it couldn't be - the first one was just so unexpected. I still loved it though, I appreciated the character development and emotional moments. Humor was hit and miss, but when it hit, it got me rolling. I like that they are completely embracing the craziness of Marvel's cosmic universe. Baby Groot is, naturally, adorable, but the stand out for me was Yondu.
I was really sad when he died.

If the first one was A, this one was B+ or A- - I have to see it again to make up my mind. But, I had a great time, in the end that is why we go to the movies.

I stand by my sentiments it will be viewed as ESB is.
There's no real central plot. No maguffin driving the film.
But it's all about the characters and their actions. You're just there to spend time with them and get to know them more.

Finally got to see The Martian what a fantastic film great cast & soundtrack I would rate it as a 9
Oh & it gets extra point for not killing Sean Bean. :p.

Edited so I actually give it a score & not a question mark :)

Watched GIFTED last night with the family.

Really enjoyed it. Charming little flick. Nothing groundbreaking or new but it's loaded with charm and the little girl is delightful next to Chris Evans.

The Man Who Wasn't There by Coen brothers. A fantastic and greatly underappreciated film by the Coens with phenomenal performance by Billy Bob Thorton. Also, it's probably their best looking film (Roger Deakins!).

POC - Dead Men Tell No Tales

It was on par with the first one. Was it better? No. Only gripe maybe would be that it couldn't balance the comedy and drama like the first one. I liked it it though and was way better than the last one by far. I'd give it B

David Lynch's Wild at Heart. I've really wanted to see Twin Peaks first, but all the the DVD copies of the first 15 episodes were loaned from my university library, so I've decided to pick something that had Laura Dern instead, since she'll be playing in The Last Jedi and I haven't really seen to many films with her and she certainly didn't disappoint in it, like te movie itself. It was sexy, sweet, less weird than Eraserhead but it still had it's far share of bizarre moments, romantic and had a great performance by Nicolas Cage. Why is he playing in B movies only? He's such a great performer. He wastes himself on all these cheap action flicks...

PS. It also made me realise that I desperately need to watch The Wizard of Oz. I guess I know what I'll be seeing tomorrow. ;)
