Other than Godzilla vs Kong and Dune (both of which I loved), the main things I watched in 2021 were horror movies. I binged ton of them doing a "Spooky Summer" marathon last June-August.

    So, here's my 2021 Top 10 list:
    1. Godzilla vs Kong
    2. Dune
    3. Underwater
    4. Errementari: The Blacksmith and the Devil
    5. Annabelle Creation
    6. The Woman in Black
    7. Stephanie
    8. As Above, So Below
    9. The Shining
    10. Doctor Sleep

And for fun, here's my "2021 Worst Watched" (ranked worst to least-worst)
    1. I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House
    2. Exists
    3. The Unborn
    4. Demonic
    5. The Quiet Ones
    6. Malignant
    7. The Ring (Both U.S. & Japanese)

Seen all five Die Hard movies on Christmas day, on Disney Plus. Believe Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Did watch Home Alone and Home Alone 2 before, do watch them when it's December.

As for Cinema, Spiderman No Way Home.

I'm looking for a horror demon possession movie where a a group of people in a house attempt to exercise the demon in her but fail. She kills them all. At the end she's driving down the street as the demon in her wreaks havoc on the surrounding environment. I can't find it and can't remember the name. Do you at all recognize it?

Yeah, I put it at the bottom of the “bad list” because I wasn’t impressed with it and thought it was pretty bland & boring.

What you described sounds almost exactly like what happened in “Demonic”, so that’d be my first guess.

After 'lapsing' over the past 2yrs (largely because Mrs Lazarus gets up for work crazy early), I realised over the Christmas (isolation?) period just how much I enjoy settling down with a movie and a beer of an evening.

In a effort to rectify this I've set myself a movie challenge for '22 for 'Movie Monday' as it's the one night in the week that everyone turns in early and I'm not committed elsewhere.

    03/01/22
Movie: Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (2015)

It was the plan to start here... it was just starting on TV and I suddenly found I'd been watching for 75mins and may as well see it through. Essentially the first part of a 2-part story concluded in MI: Fallout. All you'd expect from the MI franchise, though for me not quite as strong as Ghost Protocol which preceded it.
    - Subjective Lazarus Score: 7/10 An easy watch.

Beer: Conquering Mountains, Glen Affric Brewery (IPA Imperial / Double NE Hazy) 8% ABV
    - SLS: 3.5* Strong and juicy IPA that doesn't feel it's weight.

    10/01/22
    Movie: Lost in Translation (2003)

It's been an age since I've watched this gem - which according to most of my friends is 'the movie nothing happens in'. Johansson and Murray are in A-game territory as the two drifting souls meeting far from home.
Brings back some strong memories of my first trip to Japan and just how alien it all felt and reminds me that I should really sort my schizz out and make a trip there just to stay in that hotel and be able to jump in the pool at night, hundreds of feet above the streets.
    - SLS: 9/10 A contemplative postcard from the East, backed by a brilliant soundtrack

Beer: I Loved, I Hated, I Destroyed, I Created, Fallen Acorn Brewery (IPA Imperial / Double NE Hazy) 8.5% ABV
    - SLS: 4.25* Quite the punch on a school night!

The year's got off to a decent enough start.

Scream(2022) - This one is definitely the best since the original. It's scary, it's funny and had me guessing the whole time. One hell of ride for sure. I loved it.

After FOUR attempts to get through it without literally falling asleep, I finished Matrix Resurrections, and while I'm a huge fan of the franchise, this latest installation missed the mark, sadly IMHO.

The more I think about it, the more I like the one from 2011 more than the new one.

The Last Duel - Based on the true story of France's last trial by combat in the Middle Ages. Knight Jean de Carrouges challenges his former friend Jacques Le Gris to a duel after Jean's wife Marguerite accuses Le Gris of rape. This movie wasn't too bad. I liked it and thought it kept me interested for the final reveal. It is told in three chapters and three points of view. The dialogue was really good, the fights scenes were great and acting was good.

A few things I didn't like was ; It was 2 1/2 hrs which maybe could have been cut down some, imo. It had to tell the truth according to three characters. The other thing I didn't like was the color and tone. The movie was mostly dark. Ridley Scott literally took the dark ages literally and made it truly the dark ages. Very dreary most of the time. In saying that and at the same time the colors and cinematography was sweeping. Really some great shots of castles, landscapes, etc

But the whole movie was about who was telling the truth and who was lying. I won't give that away. But I could be lying or telling the truth about my small review.

We did see that movie in cinema, and we had a good time watching it. But it was so brutal, I had to look away from time to time. I can see the Reylos having a hard time watching it, at least the ones who like their fluff.

The telling of the three versions of that story could have been better, I agree! And the character of the wife was a bit too modern for that time, I think Scott was going a bit overboard here. We did look up on the internet the "real" story and her portrayal really was not quite the way the movie sell her to be.

Last night we've re watched Scream 3, the one with Gale's not so fortunate hair. This really is the weakest one of them all.
