The Shape of Water. Great film. Splash meets Beauty and the Beast but much more than that.

Yep escape plan was a good one, never thought I'd see these two work together on a prison break.

    Biggles (1986)

Based on a very old British comic book character of the same name, who is a pilot in the Royal Air Force of WW1 era.

Has time travel thing going on. Then back again.

Has Peter Cushing in it briefly. Which is nice.

Ready Player One. A fun, but problematic romp, espeically the whole fandom gatekeeping aspect. Also, I find this film a bit too backwards-looking. I hoped for slightly more commentary on nostalgia and its role in popculture and instead got a film whose message can be summed up in this way: "kids, spend less time playing video games and more time playing outside."

I took it more as, love what you love but don't let it rule who you are.
It wasn't about playing outside but it was about remembering reality matters too.
    Actual human connections matter.
That's why it didn't bother me like it did to some when they say the characters aren't fully formed...of course they aren't. How could they be? They've completely sacrificed that aspect of life for the Oasis.

It's like when people get irrationally mad at a Star Wars movie. You shouldn't get that mad over a movie.
    Just my .02

i've watched 2 movies this week..

    "The Titan" with Sam Worthington.
it's starts slow, goes pretty slow in the middle but by the end.... still slow and also becomes sucky.
just my opinion.. but it's not great.

    "The Commuter" with Liam Neeson.
a thriller on a train with our beloved Liam.. an ex cop who gets tangled with some bad guys.
i didn't think it could possibly be bad... it was bad.

just my humble opinions of course, others may love them.

I was on Steam with a mate, but in the same room as Mrs Lazarus when she was watching 'The Circle' last night. I kinda followed most of it... but wish I hadn't.

Subjective Lazarus rating... 2/10 (Scoring this high only for the appearance of Beck and Karen Gillan!)

i'd avoided it thus far as it didn't appeal... your 2/10 puts a nice 'never gonna bother' stamp on that for me. ta mate! :D

i had forgotten to mention that i also started watching 'Bleeding Steel' with Jackie Chan. i turned it off 20 minutes in... it was horrid to say the least. actually unwatchable. Only reason i gave it a try was because i watched 'the foreigner' with Chan fairly recently and i thought it was brilliant.

Since she’s been playing the Lego game on the Xbox, I figured it was time to introduce some classic cinema and put Jurassic Park on for my daughter tonight.

She’s just coming up 10yrs old... but has gone to bed half shaking and telling me she’s gonna have nightmares and tell her mum when she picks her up on Saturday. So that’s something to look forward to this weekend

Unsolicited subjective Lazarus score: 9/10, still brilliant despite the obvious ageing of some of the technology.
