Just watched THE LOST CITY OF Z.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the book, my hopes were very high. And boy were they met.
This is a damn classic. It's an old school movie. A historical epic film that is absolutely gorgeous to watch and filled with wonderful performances.

Charlie Hunnam may be in one of the worst movies of 2017 and one of the best. That is wild to think about.
Speaking of Charlie, he's great in this. He does a wonderful job conveying things in his expressions and mannerisms in this where he's usually pretty dull in lead roles.

Robert Pattinson and Tom Holland are both equally as good as well.

    Just a wonderful movie.

    Just finished OKJA.
    Another winner.
It gets a little clumsy and too heavy handed in it's message which can kind of throw you off the brilliant action and acting.

Beautifully crafted and incredibly well acted. Tilda is a marvel. Paul Dano is great.

Finally caught the James Gunn written, THE BELKO EXPERIMENT.

It's a very niche film and not everyone will like it but I loved it. Moves at break neck speed and at 90 minutes it never spends enough time in one spot to feel dull.

Last film I watched was Moana (with my girlfriend's daughter). It was actually a decent film, apart from all the singing. Right now I'm watching All Eyez On Me.

Cars 3, a pretty good movie. Way better than Cars 2 if that's what you were wondering.

Seven - Hadn't watched it in quite awhile. Just as dark and twisted as it ever was. Awesome movie.

Saw Spider-Man: Homecoming this afternoon. Having only seen (most of) both Amazing Spider-Man movies, I didn't know what to expect with this one. (Do hope to see the original SM trilogy soon!) This movie was just incredible. It handled the high school dynamic so well and the actors actually looked like they belonged in high school. The Spider-Man stuff was great too, giving us some great action sequences and references to the comics. The actors all did great, which lead to some great scenes. (Which I don't want to spoil!) I give this one an 8 out of 10, or maybe even a 9 out of 10, it was pretty good and provides more motivation for me to get completely caught up on the MCU. Why are you still reading my overly-worded thoughts on the movie? Go see for yourself how excellent it is! (Also stay after the credits for the best post-credits scene ever!)

Spiderman Homecoming, good flick but for some reason I expected more. I think one of the reasons is because I saw a few trailers so when those scenes came up I was like meh. I think the same thing will happen with TLJ. I must stay away from the trailer onslaught come November. I waited for Spidey with great anticipation and I think I watched like 3 trailers lucky for me i didn't watch all of them.

Now that I'm on a Spidey binge, I saw the first two Tobey Maguire films today. Both are pretty good, though I think I like the first one a tad bit better. While I'd say Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man yet, Tobey Maguire wasn't too shabby either. I don't know when I'll see the third Spider-Man though, as I'm not paying five bucks to rent the worst Spider-Man movie. Should probably watch the Andrew Garfield ones too, as I haven't seen either of them in their entirety, from beginning to end.

    SpiderMan - Homecoming (2017)

Great movie, good casting with Tom Holland as generally seen in Civil War but he now gets to expand the role for himself, good supporting cast and GREAT casting in Michael Keaton as a strongly credible villain.

RDJ could basically phone in his part and it'd have still been acceptable but he's in it sufficiently to marry up the Sony and Marvel studios partnership.

    9/10

SpiderMan Homecoming 9/10 What a great Spider-Man film probably tied with Spider-Man 2 as my all time favourite but this is the best high school Spider-Man film & Michael Keaton makes a great bad guy .

I saw Spiderman: Homecoming yesterday. I REALLY liked it, but I was not blow-away by it. It was good from start to finish. But, still, not spectacular. I have heard mentions of Giacchino's brilliant score. IMO - very good, but definitely not his best. I have to agree with others i have seen posit on various forums that it did not feel like a true Spiderman movie. For me, it wasn't the whole move, just parts that didn't feel right. So my order of SM movies is relatively unchanged
    1 [tie]: SpiderMan 1 and SpiderMan 2
    3. Spiderman: Homecoming
    4. SpiderMan 3
    ...
    ....
    ...
    ...
    5. TASM 2
    6. TASM 1

At this point, the MCU is still king. Let me repeat - THE MCU IS KING
However - IMO - DC wins summer 2017. Wonder Woman was fantastic! GotG v2 was excellent, but not as good as the first one. Spiderman: Homecoming was fun but not spectacular. Doctor Strange was better than both IMO.

Wonder Woman 9/10 the best of the currant DC films so far & as a origin story up there with Nolans Batman Begins.
