    Ah, that's disappointing.

    The trailer looked bonkers.

The trailer was a collection of the best 5 second blips through the entire movie. The trailer is why I sat down and watched it....90 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. I was painfully disappointed...

Just watched The Terminator again. Such a cool movie. Doesn't hold up as well as I remember, though. Some of the effects are REALLY bad, even for the time. This was seven years after A New Hope, and A New Hope WAY outpaces it in terms of visual effects. And the plot is pretty much "run, exposition, run, exposition, run, exposition."

But it's still super cool and a blast to watch.

The Predator- I decided to give this movie a shot. And I think it shot itself in the foot kind of. It jumps around and moves fast from one scene to the next. It's not the worst movie ever or anything, but it suffers from not knowing what it wanted to be and it almost decided it was a comedy. I mean the Predator's were cool and there was no real moments where you felt real tension, well maybe once and that's about it.

It had lots of jokes and went for a lot of funny moments. Some worked and some didn't. But it was typical Shane Black and I like him and his writing. The cast I felt like could've used a little boost or bigger star power. I'm not sure who. Also I didn't compare it to any other Predator movie. I just watched it for its own merit.

It had fun moments, action and cool predators. Oh, and it is gory as hell. Again I'm not saying it sucks. It's just average to me. But I may see it again, or wait for the DVD. Maybe I'll change my mind, maybe I missed some things. Overall I'd give it a 6 out of 10 right now.

But seriously, it's not for everyone.
MANDY is amazing. It's a psychadellic throw back to 70s and 80s phantasmagoria. It's loud, melodramatic and obnoxious in the best way possible. It's a bad trip brought to life.
It is by no means an easy watch or if you expect something more linear like John Wick or Taken...you are in the wrong place.

Lol, yep...definitely not my drink of choice. It was because of the trailer that I tuned in, because the trailer (to me) afterwards felt a bit misleading. I found it very bizarre and "Donnie Darko"-ish...and I hated that one also...of course my 20 and 30-something kids liked it. Maybe it's a generational thing, IDK, but having been born in the 1960's, I saw a lot of the same types of movies from that era and just shrugged them off, but this one I just can't look back at. :)

Oh the trailers definitely sort of played this as more of a John Wick revenge tale and not the trip that it actually is.

I watched "Wind River" again. It's been awhile back when I had seen it so I watched it on Netflix today. If you hadn't seen it it's a pretty quiet kind of movie until the pace picks up some about half way or so through. About a Hunter(Jeremy Renner) who lost his daughter and never found out how, or why and ends up finding his friend's daughter on a reservation while out hunting frozen to death. He helps out the the local Indian police and lone FBI agent
who is pretty green. It's about getting revenge in a way and that's why he helps out.

It's still a good movie, but one thing that bothered me was you never get to know the bad guy/guys until near the end. Not much back story except a small Flashback even about the girl who died. So it's a little vague. I still think it's a good movie though.

I finally watched this after years of avoiding it, even after recording it on my DVR it took about 6 months for me to finally hit the play button. I'm a big Asimov fan and there aren't many film adaptations of his work (besides this there's only Bicentennial Man which I also haven't seen and a Russian version of The End Of Eternity) so I decided to watch it. I remember seeing the trailer when it came out and thinking they just took the title of Asimov's book and attached it to a big dumb CGI/action spectacle. And that's mostly true but I found it an entertaining way to pass a Wednesday night. There are some minor nods to Asimov's robot stories and the Three Laws do play a role (before tossing them aside) but for the most part it has nothing to do with the source material. Though in hindsight I don't think a faithful adaptation of "I, Robot" would have made the most entertaining movie. I didn't care for the look of the special effects when I first saw the trailer and 15 years hasn't been kind to them, it also seemed like there was a lot of Matrix-like slow motion (an effect that I've always found more stupid than impressive), and there were some other things I didn't care for but overall I thought it was fun.

Re-watched a classic, some people call it "Soylent Green" but I call it "Humans vs Garage Trucks: The Motion Picture"

Oh yeah, loved that movie! Good thing that everything played out differently IRL too.

Avengers : Infinity War - Holy hell this movie was crazy. Thanos sucked me in and the crushed my heart. That bastard. A lot going on, deaths, some funny stuff, so much craziness that I couldn't take it all in. Need to see it again.

Probably my favorite scenes were when the cast of Guardians meets Thor and then later when they meet Dr. Strange, Iron Man, Spiderman and Vison. Because it broke up the dark and seriousness with some hilarity. Well most of Christ Pratt's scenes were funny.

DeadPool 2 - For sure wasn't as good as the first but I still enjoyed it for what it was and made me laugh.

Well it's not 2022 yet so we're not quite out of the woods. And there IS a company called Soylent that makes meal replacement products. I work at Amazon and came across some one day, the ingredients didn't list "People" but I shouted it anyway. None of my co-workers had apparently seen the movie and just looked at me like I was insane.

Supertroopers 2 - Took me like 20 minutes to get into it. Hated the opening. Probably Farva has the funniest lines. I liked it but didn't love it like the first one.

Still, I would suggest avoiding their green products. Just in case :)

Today I saw Faces Places, a French documentary (?) anout Agnès Varda, one of the most prolific French dirdctors and her journey across France with an artist known as JR, with whom she makes photos of people, animals and objects and posts large versions of them on buildings and other publically visible spaces. A truly heartwarming film. Watching it will for sure improve your move. The hype is real.

Eventually watched Cars 3. Can we just rename it Cars 2 and forget about the other one with that name.

The Predator - At least they tried to do something different? I feel like there's a studio movie choking the corpse of what could have been a great Shane Black movie.
