There were a few laughs but overall it wasn't even 1/50 as good/funny as the original.

Saw it with my sister. When we were younger, every year we'd see a local performance of The Nutcracker. As such, when the trailers came out, we were both excited to see this movie. And then the reviews came in. So, we knew what to expect and saw it anyways. This movie...is not good. I THINK it has its heart in the right place, but if you're a fan of the original ballet, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. The main actress reminds me of Daisy Ridley's Rey though.

OVERALL, if you're curious about this movie, just re-watch The Force Awakens. They're similar enough to scratch the itch, and you'll feel happier that way.

Larry Crowne - Was quirky, awkward and borderline boring.

Power Rangers(2017) - This movie especially the first 30 minutes or so reminded me of the movie Chronicle. I was never a power rangers fan but did like this one

    Creed.

    Eh. It was OK.
Nothing like R1&2, but it wasn't terrible. Definitely didn't capture the sensation of the old ones yet...but it feels like it almost did...just...somehow missed it.
Kind of a weird show; I kept finding myself more interested in Rocky than Adonis.
That all said, it was still good enough that I'd check out a sequel to see where they go with it.

    Cheers,
    Jayson

Had a blast with this one. A B movie at heart that plays with it's budget spectacularly.
It has gripping war scenes. Brutal body horror. Enough jump scares to work but not be annoying.
    And WYATT FRELLING RUSSELL

I hadn't heard of it until a few days ago when I added it to my Netflix queue. I just happened to come across it and I thought Pine was the best thing about the new Star Trek movies and I don't think I've seen him in anything else. Plus it looked like it might be halfway interesting. I haven't watched it yet but I plan to in the next few days.

The last thing I watched was not so much a film but a John Mulaney stand-up comedy special on Netflix... but I guess it kind of counts. This one was called The Comeback Kid but there's like 3-4 of his specials on there and I've seen them all before but they're all funny enough to be rewatched.

You should watch Hell or High Water.
Pine stars with Ben Foster, Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham. Directed by David Mackenzie, who directs Outlaw King with Pine again.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. It's good. It's really, really good. What more can I say - it's Coens!

This is next on my list. I'm resisting any friends asking me to see Fantastic Beasts and watching this.

A wise choice, judging at least by the reviews.

the reviews make Fantastic Beasts sound like everything I hate about prequels and tbh, a lot like what some want Star Wars to be structured like; everything connected to everything and everyone related to everyone else.

Just finished THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS

Can confirm - it's really good. Gorgeous movie. Each story is gripping and sucks you in. You can truly yearn for more in each one.

Coen Bros. vs. J.K. Rowling trying to learn how to do screenwriting, and learning how it differs from novels...

Personally, I think this is an easy pick.

Finished watching Avengers: Infinity War with the directors' and writers' commentary. It makes me love the movie even more (and now I'm too excited for Avengers 4)!
Later today I'll watch The Last Jedi with director's commentary. Looking forward to it, but part of me wonders if I should have reversed the order...

FIRST MAN Fantastic film not only visually but also from the sound department.
The fact not downside is I would not recommend it for any one suffering from motion sickness there is lots of spinning in this film.

    Watched this yesterday.
It was pretty good. Bloody as all hell, and morbid, but pretty good.

The first story, Buster Scruggs, really just made me want to go watch Rustler's Rhapsody, which is a damn hilarious film ("Root's kicking in").

But I'm happy anytime someone plays around with Westerns. I miss the genre, and I hope it keeps poking its way back.

    Cheers,
    Jayson

    A STAR IS BORN
It's perfectly fine. Nothing exceptional IMO. The music is obviously top notch in it and should dominate the song category.
Cooper is great. Gaga does a very solid turn. Their chemistry feels real.

Anon (2018) from the UK. An ok-ish movie with an interesting idea. Worth a watch if you are into things like "Black Mirror".

Baahubali 1-2 (2015-17) from India. A gorgeous epic fantasy that's made with so much heart and sincerity, that I can't help but love every minute of it.

Outlaw King (2018) from the UK/USA. Excellent historical movie. Good plot, sets, performances, costumes etc. Plus it's characters and themes feel like something from the "good old days". I thought they don't make movies like that in the West anymore and I happy to be proven wrong.

If you really want to see a good thriller of suspense I recommend this Spanish production. Its on Netflix here in Europe.

Contra Tiempo is the original tittle.
