Take your moms or daughters or wives to see Mary Poppins Returns. A delight.

In preparation for 2019, and the great replicant crisis set to hit LA in November, I watched this wonky yet beautiful gem last night.

Aquaman was pretty great, I must say. A high-fantasy story about birthright, honour, fallen civilizations weapons of great magical power and a hero combining the best of two worlds with really great action and stunning CG landscapes. If you don't mind camp it will probably be your favourite DCEU film. Also - the costume game is really strong in this one.

Bird Box on Netflix - This movie was cross between The Happening and A Quiet Place(not exactly just in ways), and other movies like them. It had exceptional acting, thrilling at times, definitely was flawed. It starred Sandra Bullock and it's premise is hard to explain unless you see it. They are not allowed to look at what is happening or you become a little crazy and murderous, except you never really see what is there. Just breezes and voices and light. They spend the movie with blindfolds on and paranoid of everything. And at some point Sandra's character along with two kids must make it to a particular place to survive. It was rated R, but really didn't need it.

Ballad of Buster Scruggs - A Western by the Coen-Brothers. I loved it. They should do more and always enjoy their movies. This was also on Netflix.

    I saw this two recently.

I didn't like Bird Box. I didn't even finish the movie. I don't remember to see a film with Sandra Bullock that I had liked it. Maybe A Time to Kill, but that was more that 20 years ago, I think. She just can't act.

Ballad of Buster Scruggs was pretty cool. I love the sense of humor of the brothers Coen. My favorite of the six stories was All Gold Canyon.

Thank the maker I was there, right? ;P

But yeah, I have to agree, this movie was boring! I was really looking forward to this movie because I'm a Spider-Man fan. I have posters of him on my wall, I have/had action figures and a lot of Spider-Man Lego (maybe even more than Star Wars Lego).

Unfortunately this movie was not for me. Yes, the visuals are great, but that's it. For me there are way to many characters and stupid plots... Spider-Man 2 is still the best Spider-Man movie of all time!

I wanted to see this for the longest time, Rurouni is one of my first anime. I heard it was the best manga adaptation. I hope they did justice to all the crazy characters, Saito was one of my favorites.

OT: Spider-man Into the Spider-verse, finally. Must see it again... and again... and...

Saw two great movies recently - Catch Me If You Can and Burning. The former one is a top-notch Spielberg flick while the latter has shades of Vertigo, American Psycho and Antonioni's Eclipse. A fascinating look at Korea's upper class, relationships, memories and past.

Aquaman before Christmas - awesome second half and some fun characterization, but the plot wasn't special

Kin sometime around Christmas - a good low-budget sci-fi film. Worth checking out.

2001: A Space Odyssey - finished it last night. And I'm glad I did. This movie was...interesting. I understand some many other sci-fi movies like Interstellar and Prometheus now. It was great, but it felt...well, disjointed is the wrong word. It felt jarring. Like I was watching two different movies sliced together to make up a Frankenstein of beautiful scenes. It made sense (up until the ending), it was just...it felt rough. But even in that nature it was perfect.

And then the ending happened. I mean, I expected it to be trippy and not make sense, but I didn't expect it to be THAT trippy and make -10% sense! I got it eventually, but seriously, that was WEIRD. Totally recommend it though.

Getting ready for soon to be released "Glass", by watching previous two in the same world: Unbreakable and Split. I really liked them.

Try reading the book, it's great and pretty much explains everything the movie doesn't. The novel/film 2010 is okay but not even close to the greatness of the original and the next two novels kind of sucked.

Promised my dad I'd watch the sequel with him, but I'll take your word for it. He's also read the rest of the books, so I'll ask him any questions I have after 2010.

The Favoutite. What a marvelous comedy. All three leading ladies are bringing their A-game, costume design is incredibly strong and the script is incredibly intelligent. A fantastic tale of personal conquest and search for power.
