    The cast, overall, is superb.
Jeffery Donovan is a great character actor.
John Malkovich is in his scene chewing best form.
Zac Efron brings it, though isn't given much to do.
Lily Collins is a delight as is Kaya Scodelario.
Hetfield fits in just fine as well.

But man is it boring. I get the attempt at making people understand how charming Bundy was, but good lord it did it at the expense of showing anything remotely exciting or tense.

the love scene between Efron and Collins could have been incredible. Instead it's pretty standard because you don't know (in the context of the film) the things Bundy has done because it goes through excruciating steps to NEVER TELL YOU OR SHOW YOU. It's a movie about serial killer who escapes from prison 2x and it literally ignores it other than the bare minimum of letting you know it happened lol

@RockyRoadHux and I watched the Iron Man trilogy over the last couple of days. Rocky has the collector's box. IMO these films are better than Endgame, Infinity War and a lot of previous Marvel movies. Furthermore Rocky was amazed how well the first one holds up.

    Our ranking of this trilogy: 1 > 3 > 2

These are the things we personally liked the most:

The relationship between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts:
    Tony Potts.jpg

    tumblr_n02875LJSr1qanzdko7_r1_250.gif

They had a great on-screen chemistry and screwball comedy moments.

Tony drinking Smoothies like us in 2019 and beyond:
    RkQXxca (1).jpg
Tony having a green smoothie: back in 2008- way before they got popular here in Germany.

The conflicts or threats felt much more believable and relatable than newer Marvel movies. Tony fighting against terrorists is also much more fun:
    tonykidnapped-740x315.jpg Iron-Man-vs.-Tank-YouTube.jpg
With the Avengers, although often set in New York, it feels like we're not in our world and they're using those settings as placeholders for the action set pieces.

Pepper bonding with Natasha (and the other female characters). We often see her bonding with Tony's "girlfriends", there is no rivarly and no silly "catfights"
    tumblr_njom7rWQq51thxjj7o7_r2_250.gif

I really miss Tony building stuff and roleplaying as detective:
    96727088-99d8-4335-9273-1952bea7d169.jpg 252fc89f-a766-4480-9d2a-ec7e3d32ea24.jpg

In the latest Avenger movies Tony's use of mechanizing is too easy and convinient.

If TROS is going to be as fun as the Iron Man trilogy, we will be satisfied.

Rust Creek - A small independent film about a girl named Sawyer who gets lost on her way to D.C. for an interview in the back woods of Kentucky. She's confronted by a couple of good 'ol boys who then pursues her because they think she saw something they did. She ends up being rescued and hidden by a guy who makes meth and knows the guys who pursues her.

The movie was ok and not as tense as it should be. And the main character Sawyer is a little boring. The most interesting characters are the Sheriff and the guy who hides Sawyer. It has it's moments but was hoping for something better.

Decided I’d best find out what all this John Wick fuss is about and watched the first one.

Man, that dude really bonded with that dog in a short time. Didn’t get his car back though

Brain out revenge action flick. Pairs well with curry and Brewdog Hop Fiction.

Unsolicited and subjective Lazarus Score: 7/10

You just described the initial setup for the sequel!
    --- Double Post Merged, May 17, 2019, Original Post Date: May 17, 2019 ---
Saw Detective Pikachu. Solid. The world building is very well done. It's a kids movie, because of course it is. The Pokemon Company would never let a Poke-product stray far from accessible to 8 year olds and younger. Which ultimately hinders the movie a bit too much for non-Pokemon fans to really sink into, it comes across as a childish mess at times. It's clearly heartfelt and made by people who like Pokemon. It's "mystery" may be too simple for a Scooby-Doo episode though. The design of the monsters and world is aces.

Saw Endgame a second time on Tuesday.

Tonight I finally, finally, FINALLY saw:

It was good! It was a well-made movie. Was it as good as the first? Not by a long shot. The songs weren't as interesting and well-placed, the score wasn't as intense, and the story was predictable. And Creed is one of my all-time favorite movies, so it didn't really have a chance. But I don't think it really lowered the bar. The movie was smaller, than the first one. The fighting itself was secondary to the characters and it shows.

Hopefully next week I'll be able to watch Detective Pikachu and John Wick 3. There are a lot of movies I want to see coming out!

Happy Death Day 2 U - I liked the first one. It was funny and different. And this one was even better. I love the comedy in it. It's like watching Groundhog day if it was a horror movie.

Backdraft 2 - The first one was a good movie and interesting. This sequel is is boring with no kind of tension. Although they try with William Baldwin(Brian McCaffery and Sean McCaffery(the son of Stephen played by Kurt Russel in the original) It even has an appearance by Donald Sutherland which is really a device wasted.

Haven't seen it yet, but it's always good to go see "smaller" movies like this in cinema to keep them alive.

    Free State Jones
    Starring: Matthew McConaughey
    Synopsis:
A Civil War Medic named Newt Jones (McConaughy) deserts the Confederacy and become part of rag tag group of runaway African slaves in s swamp. There Newt falls in love with a African Woman and begins to wage war against thieves in a very Robinhood and his merry men way.
    Review:
The movie highlights the barbarities ans horrors of xenophobia and how we all are “children of God,” and a “man is anyone who walks on two legs,” irrespective of his skin color. This film accomplishs two things; a horror over racism and compassion forcour fellow human beings. All in all a great film.
Disclaimer: Its graphic in parts, no nudity of sex, but the first 15min has surgeons operating on Civil War soldiers and its the most graphic scenes I have seen and I’ve seen Braveheart, The Patriot, and other gory dramas.
    Rating: 5 out of 5

I rewatched Popeye after 30 years, I guess... My father used to rent this movie when I was 4 or 5 years old. So, I had very good memories about this film, now not so much but it's not a bad movie at all.

Actually I loved how Robin Williams impersonated the character, probably his best performance ever. Also Shelley Duvall is the perfect Olive Oyil.

The movie has a very strange pace and sometimes the jokes are not so good, but I read some critics and people said that was made intencional to look like the black and white cartoon from the 20's.

The movie has some very weird tone but also good songs (some parts are musical).

What made me to rewatch this movie was because they constructed a huge village in Malta called Sweetheaven and on these day the village became one of the atractions of that particular area. I' m going to Malta next week to spend one week of vacations and I was curious about it.

I watched Godzilla 2 last night 'cause my gf wanted to; she's hugely into monster movies, which I ain't, but I entered this with an open mind.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is good :) It is a dumb movie, of course, but a surprisingly clever dumb movie. The writing is quite clever which for a monsterx10 movie sounds impossible, and it has some emotional impact as well. And, Millie Bobby Brown is fantastic as always :D

(There was one thing that I didn't like about this movie, but that's just a personal peeve of mine that isn't worth mentioning; nothing the majority of movie goers will worry about).

I know I've seen Gareth Edwards' Godzilla in the last couple of years, but I can't for the life of me remember anything about it. This one, however, I think I will remember for a while :)

    Godzilla: King of the Monsters
    is unashamedly cool :D

Godzilla King of the Monsters 2019, I hated Millie Bobby Brown's performance, awful actress in my opinion.

All the actors sucked, with the considerable exception of KEN WATANABE's portrayal of Dr. Ishiro, and Joe Morton continuing the role of Dr. Houston Brooks which began in Kong Skull Island in which Corey Hawkins displays a great performance as a young Dr. Houston Brooks, all the other actors sucked, most of all Ice Cubes' son who did an awful job as Chief Warrant Officer Barnes.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is a great Kaiju flick.

Gareth Edwards' Godzilla 2014 is my favorite Godzilla film. Bryan Cranston does a wonderful job in the film, I felt his sorrow. Taylor-Johnson does a wonderful job as well, his frustrations with his father was believable, and I loved how Brody (Taylor-Johnson) decides to destroyed Muto's eggs at the last minute before running off, he completed his mission.

Godzilla 2014 teases Godzilla, the same way classic slow burn genre films teased the big bad, some examples include: Jaws, Alien, The Exorcist, The Thing, Rosemary's Baby, Halloween, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Blade Runner.

Todays audience want action, action, and more action, explosions after explosions, with no substance, then they complain later, how stupid the film was.

Godzilla 2014 is a slow burn genre film for those that appreciate good films.

I've been seeying some old movies these last three days. All of them are novels from Stephen King's book Different Seasons that I'm reading right now. Great book by the way.

Stand by Me (The Body in King's novel) - 10/10.
Classic movie that I've used to watch during my childhood. The young actors are so good and they have such a perfect chemistry. It makes me think os The Goonies, but with a tone a little bit dark.

Shawshank Redemption (Rita Hayworth and the Shanshak Redemption in King's novel). 9/10.
The adaptipn here its great, very faithful to the book. The end its still very surprising and I don't get tired of rewatch it.

    Apt Pupil. 7/10.
First time I saw this one. Ian Mckellen is always good and the boy from The Client did a good job.
