    Thanks. As a war movie fanatic, 80 minutes of "World of Warships" sounds great.

    Quite literally what it is. You get Hanks being Hanks and yelling a bunch of naval stuff. "Hard right rudder!" "Depth charges!" Good stuff.

    I just unlocked the USS Cleveland, Tier VIII Cruiser. Raining High Explosive death on the enemy with a wicked fast reload.

    Finally finally got around to watching a Tarkovsky movie...Andrei Rublev. But even though I kept getting prodded to watch it, I was reluctant to watch a three-hour black-and-white movie in Russian with subtitles. I am a lazy, good-for-nothing philistine, I know. :oops:

    220px-Andrei_Rublev_Russian_poster.jpg

    And even by three-quarters of the way through, I was still reluctant to watch a three-hour black-and-white movie in Russian with subtitles... And then I watched That Redemptive Scene, and Boriska sobbing in the mud...and suddenly it all clicked. Suddenly the whole thing resonated. Suddenly I more than liked Andrei--I could relate to him, and all the slogging through mud and rain and heartbreak and cynicism and doubt...as well as the conviction that faith as well as talent are gifts not to be wasted but to be put to getting-your-hands-dirty work regardless of circumstances.

    This made me laugh quite a few times.
    Not as top notch as Blades of Glory, but it's just below that. Worth the watch for sure (and yes...it's a another stupid Will Ferrell man-child comedy).

    Cheers,
    Jayson

    This movie has such a beautiful photography. I watched it more than 10 years ago and I recall that it was toooo slow and one of my least favorites of Tarkovski.

    My favorites:

    - Stalker (beautiful photography ever in a movie? Probably yes);
    - The Mirror;
    - Solyaris;
    - Ivan's Childhood (one of the best war movies ever made.and one of the greatest child acting that I saw)

    Oh my is it slow. Unless you're watching Tatars pillage and rape and torture their way through town... :eek: But other than the brutal scenes--and often even during them--there is such a unique hypnotic quality to the camerawork and images. It's so dreamlike that when Andrei hallucinates his mentor Theophanes talking to him amidst the carnage of the looted church, it doesn't even seem out of place.

    I've only seen clips of the other movies except Ivan's Childhood (which I haven't seen any of). I think the boy who plays Boriska the bellmaker in Andrei Rublev is the same actor who played Ivan. I thought he was outstanding as Boriska so Ivan must be great!

    I will, but I will have to pace myself. No more Tarkovsky for at least two months until I’ve fully recovered from this one! :p

    @NinjaRen and I watched: Leprechaun with Warwick Davis and Jennifer Aniston

    feels like a classic 80s film, although released 1993. They go in search of treasure and end up being chased and
    terrorized by the Leprechaun. It's cheesy all the way through and always a step away from being a horror film.

    rewatched Silence of the Lambs for the first time in ages. A favorite of mine growing up. Perhaps one of the few perfect films.

    Push (2009). It's... weird. But, also very different from today's Marvel's conveyor belt. Which probably makes it more enjoyable and worthy of watching now, then when it came out.

    What is it with the anti-marvel jabs on this forum? Star Wars and superheroes/villains goes together pretty well. Star Wars feels like comic books and technically, it is a marvel comic! Anyway, I last saw..
